I've treated myself to a new tweed jacket from my local shop, as I had a blue tweed before, (and I'm sure I read somewhere that blue tweed was not technically correct for showing) and I'm hoping to take my 5 (nearly 6yo) out to some shows this summer.
What do you guys think? please excuse the blue jods and brown boots!
What colour jods would you wear with it? beige?
It is green with a light turquoise overcheck (barely noticeable) Do you think it suits him?
I'm also a bit worried it looks too long for me. Usually I have a long body, and struggle with tops being too short. It fits well on the arms - I don't think I have particularly long arms...

thanks for any advice!

I think it looks gorgeous, v smart!
I don't think it looks too long - nothing worse than seeing people squeezed into too small jackets with their arse hanging out! Yours looks really very nice on - love the twin vents at the back too - I always think that looks smarter than a single one.
I would go for beige jods, I believe that is correct - canary best left to the children riders who are showing. I prefer a beige to slightly cream shade as I think it looks cleaner than some beiges but without moving into scary yellow territory!

I think it looks really nice, beige might be best but if you can find a subtle canary maybe those - don't go for cheap yellow ones though.

I've got a long body too and the length looks fine you don't want it to short .... or your tie popping out of the bottom lol

Thank you to everyone for your kind words! no-one even mentioned my big bum!
I'm really glad nobody thinks it's too long, as I really like it! I'll take the tags off it now and look out my beige jodhpurs!
and yes it is the Shires Huntingdon Jacket - what gave it away? My friend is going to get me some foxhead buttons, and we thought it would look like a really posh jacket!

Very nice, for a smarter look I will admit to saying, personally if it was a wee touch shorter I think it would look better but at the same time I agree that you do see some with jackets that are too small, it's nice to see a bit of your cuff and not have too much flapping over the back of your saddle but if a size down doesn't fit or is too short, then that's no good either.

It still looks very smart, teamed up with some nice long back boots, yellow breaches (not too yellow, you can get a very light creamy yellow colour) along with a shirt to match, tie with the same colour as the check that your jacket has (light turquoise I think you said) with a tie pin, hair in bun, brown leather gloves and velvet hat cover or tradional velvet hat....you'll look super!

thanks Kenzo, that's brill advice, and I have to admit that I quite fancy a turquoise tie...
The jacket has a blue velvet collar, and I have a blue velvet hat from when I had my blue jacket so I was hoping that would be ok!

That is more than OK, it is perfect, absolutely spot on, and creamy yellow breeches is also the way to go.
