what do we think of these two neds?

I am rubbish at conformation so will leave that to the experts, but how can you resist a horse called Marlon?!!

Both nice but the first one is probably a bit more of a long term investment. Also at that age I wonder what he would be like once settled in somewhere new would he hit the teenage stage? Also is he a bit bum high or is it the pics? Are you happy buying from a dealer?

No 2 is nice, not as nice looking as no one but you could probably go straight out on him no problems. I find it odd neither have ridden pics.

Go see them both, hack them out alone see what they are like, see what you think and get the one you want vetted would be my thoughts

Interesting links to their websites nikicb, hard to imagine how they manage to get such terrible limbs on all of their horses on the first site.

Neither horses impress me very much i'm afraid but each to their own, the youngster if safe and sensible may suit you down to the ground if you don't want to be a world beater but just to enjoy yourself.

Find the wording odd for paddy, he's safe in walk trot and canter.... but can you gallop on the beach? what does he do if you approach a jump? I've never seen this term before and makes me a bit wary. I'd ask someone to age him as well, he may be a lot older than it states in the ad.

With £2000 tospend i'd look elsewhere as there are plenty about.

you say that but have been horse hunting for a month & every horse had something wrong with it :-( losing heart.

Oh don't lose heart, just don't be afraid to go in with an offer at fifty percent of the asking price, neither vendor should be offended and you may come away with what you wanted and enough left over to do some horsey shopping!

I like the look of Marlon and the sound of Paddy, neither photo is really good enough for a sales pic. I do wonder sometimes how people think they are going to sell their horses with rubbish photos.
They are quite a distance apart, so if I were you I'd go and look at the one nearest to you, with an open mind and a knowledgeable friend, who won't let your heart rule your head.
Marlon does sound a bit young for what you want (if I remember rightly) but you can sometimes find an old head on young shoulders.
