We have recently purchased some (8) second hand (hardwood) monarch stables - we used the pressure washer to get all the s**t off the wood (took a while!!) the wood is now all diff colours!!

We now need to treat the wood but what is the best stuff to use and where do we get it from?

Creocote (not creasote, that has been banned) is good for treating wood to help preserve it, it makes the wood darker, but wouldn't cover all the colour variations you have. maybe a trip to your local Garden Centre/DIY shop and see what they have/recommend?

Can still get creosote if you are a builder/fencer etc (professional use only) but only in the dark brown - we did our fencing with it.

Lighet colours and you have to have the creosote substitute - we used the Ronseal one on our conservatory and tbh it didn't do what it said on the tin!

The ducks back one is good - Sadolin I think and lasts very well but is quite thick and harder to get on quickly - think that's what we're gonna use this time to retreat ours

Why don't you phone Monarch, pretend you are going to commission new stables, and ask them what the wood is treated with?
Sneaky but it might work.
Or be honest - they might be helpful anyway

Thing is I have had 2 quotes from Monarch for new stables and they phone me once a week!! I don't think they will be too pleased If I ask what they treat their wood with, might get my sister to phone, she has more balls than me!!
from the wimp x

Time you started stalking them in revenge, I'd say. Like my OH who gets lots of cold callers at his work and has a cunning system worked out which connects them to the speaking clock.
