I've come to the conclusion that i look like a total scruff whenever i'm around my horse :P I see loads of people looking so smart and elegant even when mucking out, and then there's me looking like a complete scruff with messy hair in a polo shirt, jeans and dubarrys :p

i tend to look like a total scruff, unless i'm having a lesson!!

my new fav thing is tipping my head upside down and scraping my hair into a very severe on top of head bun (i have v long hair) my friend sys i look like a chav!!!

Ohh don't worry about it!!!!
I wear jods and old tshirts which usually end up absolutely filthy - old holey leg warmers, and ripped, shredded mudruckers - that includes if I'm having a lesson too!!
I see everyone else who comes away from the yard, clean and in matching clothes and wonder how they do it????
Especially when I have to go shopping afterwards!!!! :o:o:o

Nah i look like absolute sh** most of the time when i'm up at my horse - its the time when i feel most comfortable :)
I usually wear my purple welly things (dont know the name of them they are rubber soled with a neoprene upper half) or manky trainers
My ancient blue fleece or my big puffy toggi jacket thats been passed down from other horsey friends and is also ancient. Or a plain tshirt.
and then my gross ancient tracksuit trousers which are shortly going to go through in the a**e one day soon no doubt - they are like thread bare.
When i ride i do wear jods - sometimes lol, and i do wear appropriate footwear whilst riding. :)
I only look smart whilst at shows events then i do make an effort :) x

I wear polo shirts I've "inherited" (nicked!) from my (younger) brother, breeches I've bought off ebay and either scummy old trainers in the summer or dubarry's in the winter, unless it's massively raining, when I wear my yellow hunters!!

I have a bit of a footwear fetish though, not bothered about actual clothes.

I always feel pretty smart in my dubarry's though, was surprised when you said you thought you look a complete scruff in yours!

Also to add my hair is generally like a birds nest. When i get home my mother (still live at home :( ) makes me keep my boots outside in a plastic box because they reek. Then i have to immediately go and strip and take my clothes down to the wash (she is obsessed) Its just as well really if it was down to me they'd get rarely washed :)

I'm the same, if it's wk days I'm in my work uniform but cover it up if I go riding else I always get people stopping me and asking me work related questions. Does my head in, they can order anything horse wise, tack, supplements etc during work hours but not in my time please. Wk ends is just black trousers, polo top and hunters. It don't stay clean for long so would never wear good clothes.

Well in the week I am often to be seen lunging in a floaty floral skirt and a pair of wellies so you could all be doing a lot worse. I look like I've escaped from the asylum

At the weekend its my jeans which the bum has fallen out of (cos they're comfy) pink trainers, cos I'm too poor for anything as smart as Dubarrys, and usually the aforementioned chav hair do. Only I have curly hair so it tends to escape around the edges and look like I've been electrocuted. In winter I wear a massive fleece thing which is four sizes too big so I look pregnant. O and to top it off I can't be bothered to put in contact lenses so I have my Buddy Hollys on too. I like to think of it as eclectic but I'm pretty sure I just look a mess.

But hey. Nitty doesn't care so why should I and all the other yardigans are used to me now :)

im a tramp :p old jeans, polo top, hoodie and old ridin boots (need a new pair me thinks) and on a good day jods and a polo with a hoodie. No make up either  i do look a state, although the horse always looks super clean

I had to get Buzz a new saddle recently as old one doesn't fit and now my tack doesn't match so need to get a black bridle and girth, we dont compete or anything so makes no sence as I am insisting to boyf Buzz needs to match. However I ride in trackies and hunters with a big scruffy fleece

I try and always look smart as I'm advertising myself and my services whenever I'm out and about in horsey clothes...so... I tend to be in smart jeans/grey, navy or black breeches, polo shirts, smart boots be they my darling ariat grasmeres (saved up for A LONG time!), dubarrys (LONGER time!) or my lovely sergio grasso dress boots (SUCH a long time!!), and rugby shirt/gilet/coat with my yard details on them.

But if it's just me shlepping about at home with them and nobody's around, I'm a pyjamas and wellies kinda girl :)

I went to bed last night with haylage all over me!

I know what you mean!! I'd go to the yard after work when I worked in the tack shop and have people saying "have you got this/can you order this/can you save this/how much is this?" I felt like saying, come to the shop tomorrow and then you can find out!!!!

I wear jeans (usually a really pale grey pair that get covered in muck with in minutes of just walking on the yard), muddy boots and what ever top and hoody i manage to find first....And my hairs always a mess.

5 of us went out on a short hack today with the YO despairing at us (she'd already disappeared during the gymkannah as she was expecting it to end in loose horses and broken bones) as there was one 'correct' riding outfit (as in covered arms, jods, boots, gloves etc) between the lot of us.

Jeans, strappy top, trainers.
Change the trainers for cowboy boots and stick a long sleeved shirt on when I ride.

I have a collection of scoop necked tank tops that I wear with a pair of shorts and my old tennis shoes for mucking out. When I ride, I have several pairs of pull-on schooling breeches. They're comfortable and cheap. My paddock boots and a pair of grimy half-chaps complete the ensemble. :p

Hahaha love it! Especially the asylum patient!

I wear: Any old t-shirt I can find,
a zip-hoodie folded up in my duffle,
if its reaally cold I'll wear my Stepney Bank Stables sweatshirt I got as a present,
ridiculously pink raincoat if needed (solely to blind all who see me),
jods in different shades of blue (as they're the only ones I have!),
scruffy short leather boots (which do get occasionally polished),
black suede half chaps,
gloves gloves GLOVES! I cannot ride without them, saves so much pain (in the form of blisters on my poor widdle handies :o)

And finally giant huge egg-head of a CharlesOwen crash helmet, gotsta keep the grey matter safe and snuggly in there! *knockknock*

All in all carrying a huge pink schooling whip which frightens all teh commuters on the tube :D:D

just generally on the yard i wear jods birght long socks joddy boots and a usually a toggi top, and my puffa gillet and for riding i just add on my gaiters and im all set, i try to look as smart as possible as i ride straight after mucking out and would rather not looka scruff to go round the park or on roads, plus everyone at my yard dresses rather smart

In summer on the yard usually denim shorts or those cropped joggers you can get, vest top, flip flops (yes yes i know i do wear them leading my horse in and out/grooming but change to boots to lunge or handle youngsters!). To ride and for my lessons i change into jods, polo top (joules, ariat or similar) leather half chaps and jod boots.
In winter i look like a mitchelin woman in layers of thermal undies, tshirt, hoody, padded coat, tights under jods/jeans, about 5 pairs of socks, gloves and hunters. Can't bear the cold!!! Am thinking of investing in some muck books or those WoofWear yard boots for this winter, to try and keep my toes warmer.............
