Just wondering what everybody does best with their horses, if its Hunting, Show Jumping, XC, Dressage, Hacking, Endurance rides etc. I want to see your pics!!!!!! Even if its lazing in the field enjoying the sun and watching the horses graze :)

Here are mine:

Jessie who enjoys best of all her Show Jumping!

Ebony who enjoys Show Jumping too, but also XC!

This is what we do best..

:D Can't beat a flat out gallop on a beach!! Luckily I live within 5 mins drive of loads of great beaches! Although went drag hunting for the first time this saturday and that comes a VERY close 2nd now!! Loved every second of it!:D

jsr - That picture is FAB! I have only ever ridden on the beach once and that was when i took my pony Jessie on holiday with me and in the middle of that holiday was my 15th birthday, so it was an amazing treat. You're very lucky to be able to do that so often :D!!!

That jump on Ebony (2nd pic) was about as wide as it was big, and on top of a rather steep hill which made it seem twice as big lol. I think it was between 3ft - 3ft 6". Not 100% sure though as that was taken a couple of years ago now :)!

My first ride of my new boy on the weekend...

But I am hoping for us to be more like this within 2 months - photo with his previous owner

I live on the Isle of Anglesey so surrounded by beaches!!:D And lucky my lad absolutely loves the water!! First time I rode to the beach with him he bolted with me and ended up chest deep in the water!!! I was terrified but then realised he was loving it!! He is always the first in the sea and last out!! Doesn't care if its waves up to his ears he just loves it!! Great fittening work for them on the sand too!!

I've only started jumping last year (grand old age of 40!!) so very jealous of you guys who can leap over those heights without worrying.

Mind you I've met loads of people who are terrified of taking their horses out in open fields or the beaches so I guess we all have our bravery and fears. ;)

Indiapony - Your post made me giggle :D! Love the last pic, nothing like havin breakfast in bed lol!

Missparis, - Your new horse seems to have lots of talent! What i would do to be able to ride in an arena like that :D

Also a short video of my pony show jumping. I did have more but can't seem to find them.. (Dad if you read this please find them for me :D!!!!)

Hope it works!

Your pony is a little gun at show jumping! Take it the video was off a jump off?

Its amazing how well horses can adapt to what you like to do with them isn't it! Well done for giving jumping a go, everybody has to start somewhere if they want to try it!!! I was worrying most of the time when i rode my pony on the beach that she (and i for that matter!) was going to get stung by a jellyfish.. or bitten by a crab lol. Didn't in the end but the thought was always in my mind :D

Yep it was of a jump off. I have plenty more but can't seem to find them :(! She will plod the whole clear round section and as soon as its the start of the jump off a little nudge and shes a completely different pony. Can turn on a sixpence, fit through gaps which are surprisingly only very slightly bigger than her lol. Oh and she will stop dead if at full gallop and i take my feet out of stirrups (thats from playing gymkhana with her though :D)

None of mine are ridden ..

Bobby my old pony loved to go out on his "hacks" on the longreins & Jump :D

Thankyou, it took a long time to get her that way. She was severely miss treated when i first got her, that she would tremble and cower in a corner if you went in to a stable with her or anywhere near her for that fact lol. We didn't realize she was as bad as she was until it came to catching her in a 60 acre field on the side of a hill with forest sections in it and 20 other horses!! The show jumping video was filmed at Hartpury College at one of their unaffiliated shows. This was in on of their smaller indoor arenas, not the new huge arena :D

Your mare looks lovely, and the horse behind which is trying to get in to the photo too! Lol. What are you planning to do with her when shes older?

Oh poor girly :( I had a pony like that who I sold recently as I didn't really have the time or experience to help him, so he's now gone to a lovely home where he's getting on very well.
Ahh it's not where I thought it was lol :p
I want to do jumping with her, like show jumping and xc ... maybe some dressage too ... a bit of everything really :) She has a nice little pop on her and is quite brave so I think she'd be pretty good at it :) The pony in the background is the one I used to loan, but he's not there anymore. I hadn't even noticed he was there until I took the photo and then looked at it :p

:o Aww thank you. I'm always pleased when people like him, I of course adore him but years of having the 'horse snobs' looking down on my little hairy cob make me touchy. I moved here so I could enjoy the beaches, work life is terrible and wages are appauling but the weekends certainly make up for it!! Certainly beats the busy roads and limited hacking I had in Cheshire. ;)

Vam - The jump in that second picture looks huge!! Am i right in thinking that is 4ft+++? That mare sure does have a great jump in her, any idea what breed she was? Also your new boy looks gorgeous with loads of potential too! :D

Me & P like to have fun - this is one of my fave pix of us, and you can hardly see us (can't see my face which is always good :o)

But P's greatest talent is definitely getting covered in poo  We went showing once last year, this was what I found that morning

Many more classic poostains in her album ;)

Vam - I LOVE your mare! Wow, what fun she looks. Did you sell her? (new boy is gorge too) :)

She was a fabby 14.3hh who knows what, think she had Clyde in her and some sort of pony as she was as tough as old boots. That fence was 1.10m the one below was 1.20m (my wings were only 4 and 1/2 foot ones). She was put down last year at 19 due to strangles after never being ill a day in the 14 years i had her, gutted is not the word, we went from trippin over poles to aff jumping in that time and she did pretty much everything.
New boy has oddles of scope, fab temp, just need for him to grow into his frame abit more, he looks like Bambi on ice sometimes :o :D
