I've seen a potential horse for my daughter and I. I have emailed, called and left a voicemail and sent a text over the last 5 days but had no response! I don't want to badger someone or come across as a stalker but you would think that if the horse has already been sold (a possibility as the ad is dated a month ago), they could at least send me a msg to say so?

so do i assume that it has been sold and move on or bug them some more? :)

thank you

It's possible they have already sold the horse or changed their minds about selling. If the horse is still up for sale, they probably would have contacted you by now, unless they are on holiday or something. Personally I would move on.

Thank you Doe. That was my feeling too. its a real shame though as she would have been perfect for us. never mind. on with the search :)

It is really sad when you do find what seems 'the perfect one', but if they are not answering or replying after 5 days I think I would have to just give up on that one. It is sad and frustrating but believe me, plenty more pop up, especially when you think you won't find another.. x

thanks guys. a short 'sorry she's sold' text msg isn't too much to ask is it? very frustrating but you could be right there lizbet, maybe a lucky escape!

ok, Turtlebay69, 'I won't find another one like her'................:D, hopefully one should pop up any day now lol!!

We're experiencing the same thing! It doesn't take a lot of effort for someone to (either answer the phone!) or send a quick one line text/email explaining that the horse has sold/they have a potential buyer/they would like more time. We have left very polite messages but have now given up on the horse were were interested in as the seller clearly doesn't want to get in touch. There are so many lovely horses around at the moment, I'd continue looking for another - your perfect horse will be out there x

I know it's frustrating not getting a reply, but having been on the selling end of situations like this (not horses though, other inanimate items) sometimes you get so many replies, you just give up on replying (or you lose track of who you have replied to and who you haven't!). You don't mean to be rude but replying to a zillion emails is both tedious and time consuming.

Or as others have said, the sellers could be on holiday or could be going through personal circumstances. You never know. If this is the case, they will contact you when they can.

I've responded to a couple of horsey adverts recently. Both did not reply, so I will just move on. I suggest you keep looking, OP :)

thanks everyone. we will keep looking. our 'dream' horse is one of those types that everyone wants so I guess the key is to get in there quick with a phone call first rather than an email? I am a bit like the poster on the other thread regarding calling....it terrifies me but if I want a horse I'm just gonna have to get on with it! consider my butt firmly kicked! :D

We had the same thing when looking for a cat.......barely anyone bothered to reply to our emails/messages including a cat rescue who gave the cats promised to us to someone else then refused to answer calls, eventually got a reply on email to say the cats had gone elsewhere, but very rude!

I had so many calls, texts and emails with a horse I sold, that it was difficult to keep track with all the enquiries. Even after I put sold on the advert, I still had messages asking after him. I wouldn't deliberately have ignored anyone, but I probably did.

If the horse was seeming perfect for you, OP, the seller may have been swamped with enquiries. I do hope you find something wonderful soon.

Have you looked at preloved for a horse to buy, also lots of folk on their sell their rugs and other horsey tack, its a good website
