Hi everyone,

just after a little advice, its been 3 years since i last had to feed a newly weaned foal.

Then i fed stud balancer, stud mix with alfa a.

just wondered what you are all using, if there are some better/cheaper options out there.

I have mine on haylage, grass during the day and baileys stud mix with dengie hi fi which is what she and the mare were on prior to weaning so no change. just about to start adding the baileys stud balancer too.

When we weaned Fionn at 6 months he was on Baileys Stud Balancer and HiFi Lite, and did well on this ... and then I was talking to a friend who has been "bringing up" two rescued youngsters, and she has been feeding Equilibrium Growth, which is a forage based all-in-one feed, and I was so impressed with their condition and steady growth that we have gradually moved Fionn over to this. He's looking fantastic, incredibly glossy coat, and I'm really pleased with the bone and substance that he's putting on without massive growth spurts. So I'm a real fan now, would recommend it to anyone!

I've been using Spiller's Youngstock pellets. Can be fed from just before weaning right through to 2 years old. They are tiny pellets, so easy for small mouths and appear palatable. Mine WB looks fantastic on them; is growing well, gleaming coat and not over-topped. I'd recommend them.
