Trying again (my other attempt to post disappeared)

I have got a young kitten, now 9 weeks old, who I feed whiskas kitten food. The vet has said that whilst it isn't the worst it isn't the best & it may be the culprit to the wonderful aroma she amits!!

She also has access to water, has kitten biscuits & I have stopped the kitten milk as she didn't seem to be touching it at all.

The vet was kinda pushing me to consider Royal Canin (must be the one they supply) but I just wonder what feed you would recommend?

Thanks :D

Ours is on Royal Canin dry, purchased from the vet. She has been on Whiskas etc in the past - mix of pouches and dry nuts. I find that Whiskas and the like really does stink, and the, ahem, under tail area, can tend to be a bit unpleasant. Price-wise, when we did an accurate calculation, the Royal Canin actually works out slightly cheaper than the other foods, even though it seems expensive to buy the bag.

She also gets the odd bit of chicken scraps etc.

ETA - ours is an adult cat (got her as an adult rescue) but if I ever had another kitten, I would be getting them onto the same sort of diet ASAP.

Ours gets a mixture of Applaws kitten food and Natural Instinct which is a raw diet - comes as frozen blocks. Now she's over 4 months, she's gradually moving over to the raw diet and it's she's doing well on it. It's also interesting that her poo hardly smells (and we all know how much kitten poo can smell!) The older cat is also now on the raw and is blooming!

My cat gets adlib gocat biscuits and each night one of the small gourmet pâté tins (buy in bulk from amazon!) was going to buy the new kitten stuff of her own, but she tucked into the older cats bowl quite the thing, so will just feed her the same
