The very best! We're on our second and I will be heartbroken when we need to change it.
Don't ask me about the technical side but I know ours can tow two full size horses in and not know you're towing at all; it's effortless for it and even though ours is a P reg', it's not over thirsty either. Because they're short wheel based they're easy to manoeuvre too with a good turning circle unlike some of the bigger 4 x 4s even if they might be a bit more passenger oriented!

I LOVE mine (second one) it is a brilliant tow vehicle; its a 2.8TDi so not too heavy on fuel either. It tows an IW510 with two hunters, no problem and has kept me safe when other vehicles were struggling (including up an icy hill where others were sliding backwards!) I have had it about 7+ years. I fitted off-road tyres which are brilliant for parking in muddy fields, yet its still OK for road work too. I can only think of one time it broke down and I am not planning on changing it.

Brilliant.

I've had mine 5yrs and sadly it's starting to tire. I never want it to die because it tows everything and has a huge boot space.

fantastic workhorse........ We are on our third..... they are the best thing since sliced bread and you know you are gonna get there - even if it means your late -
I have a shogun for longer distances but round about the doors the diahatsu is miles the best on fuel..!
Hope you get one!

Brilliant cars for towing, can tow 3.5t. Weve had 2, one a G reg and the other an s reg which was much more car like and nicer to drive. They changed from leaf springs arroung L reg I think, so if buying I would try and get one younger than this as there is a massive difference.

I had an E reg one for years and loved it. Towed brilliantly. The body work eventually went and the towbar wasn't safe, but I sold it for peanuts to someone to off road as the mechanics were still fine. They go on for ever and are simple to work on. Still wish I could get a good condition old one, but think I'm asking for the moon.

They are brilliant for the job of towing, as someone said above they can tow 3.5t.

The only other 4x4's that can tow upto 3.5t are Range Rovers and Land Rovers (but not the freelander, i think)

Love mine to bits! It doesn't pretend to be anything other than a tough workhorse, no extra knobs and buttons and very basic but does a brilliant job.

Loved mine to bits sadly had to RIP it in Oct, it was 16 yrs old engine and gear box was still in fantasic order but body work had seen better days!
A brill car that never let me down.
