There are two on our yard clipped right out head legs the lot. They are wearing fleeces at night and are quite toasty in the morning! It has not got cold here in the night yet! We are the very south of England
It has been warm enough most days to turn out naked as well!
I just bought Cass a medium weight Geologic Decathlon stable rug, it'll arrive by the end of next week, and he'll be getting a hunter clip in late September
ummm couple of horses on our yard wear a lightweight stable rug or a thickish fleece rug in at night and a rainsheet if out during the day with a mediumweight T/O at night.
My mare is in at night and out in the day. At the moment it is over 20 degrees here in the day so she is out in the nude. I do pamper her but I don`t like her to be sweaty and uncomfortable like some horses on our yard. If it goes coldish, then she has the LW masta on and a fleece at night. When it goes even colder but not freezing, she has a MW rambo with half neck in the day and a LW stable rug at night, then when clipped, she has the HW Mark Todd combo or HW other combo rug. And at night she has an underug that covers her neck with a HW Masta on top.
Mine dont wear their stable rugs in the stable much since they are very rarely stabled! One of mine is fully clipped but lives out (well rugged etc.) But they do wear stable rugs when standing about at shows or if they are in for a show the next day etc. They wear a full neck Rhinegold Kentucky rug which is brilliant, so cosy! Or if its not too cold, they have a FAL Godolphin or Weatherbeeta
my boy who is not in work and stabled 24/7 has mag rug o and a rambo quilt but once it gets colder will have full neck super stable on top of mag
rupert is living out with duvet and rambo on top and once gets colder will be inside with duvet and stable on top also has a fulll neck bucas for stable and an outside one
oh and botch have quilts and stable bandages on and chaps and over each on outside
I have my TB in a medium weatherbeeta rug or he keeps his NZ on. I have got about 3 different thickness rugs for NZ depending on the time of year so that I can gradually increase and decrese the thickness. Also I use a wick away rug at times / my mum made an under rug out of a duvet which I can use if its really cold. It really does deend on the temperature as if my TB gets too hot he has learnt to remove his rug. This tends not to be good especially when he is in the field as he then goes and jumps on it afterwards to really rub it into the mud / split it
