Summer looks like its definitely over this week. It has got dark early and there is a chill in the air in the morning.
I love the golden leaves, blackberries and conkers. I love wrapping up in a big fleece and warm gloves and hacking on clear sunny cold mornings. I love putting a clean freshly washed rug on my pony and making her stable cosy for the night.
I hate grey wet mornings and the thought of poopicking muddy fields. I hate it getting dark earlier and earlier

Love cool days, hate heat -well don't hate it it doesn't like me!
hate dark nights esp as yard not that well lit and school only has 2 lights.

I love the bit up to Christmas, soooo excited already. Love sitting round the fire with a glass (or 3) of wine. Love the ex factor (always on this time of year). Love hacking out in the cold. Love dark evenings. I tollerate summer but get all hot and tired. I love having seasons, it would be boring if it was the same all year round.

Love: tucking my girlie up warm and snug in her stable at night with rain pelting down outside, feeding her blackberries off the bush on the way to her field in the morning, moving to closer (winter) paddocks that aren't miles away from the yard, start of the indoor dressage season.

Hate: rugs that won't dry, dark early mornings, the bunfight to get in the indoor school of an evening (my pet hate is people who don't work who still book the school for 7 at night!!).

I love the cold still frosty mornings when I am out riding and my horses breath is puffing out like a steam train, love the cobwebs in the hedge rows when they are covered in dew, love putting my hands inside my horses rug and feeling his warmth, love putting my log burners on at home and sitting roasting with a glass of wine, love the leaves on the ground and so does my horse - he veers over to them and kicks them as he walks through them.
Hate and miss my early morning hacks at 6am when no one is around but me and my horsey.

love the chill in the air, stubble fields and the beauty of the trees changing colour, in fact i think september is my fave month!
hate the nights drawing in.......why can't the clocks be left alone?? scotland can have their own ruddy time zone!

I hate the nights drawing in and the fact that winter is just round the corner.

But I love the warm and damp weather (normally), and that there's hardly any flies and I feel the need for a Spring! clean to get everything ready for winter.
