I know it has been asked before but out of interest just wondering what you get for your money...?
Ive been offered a place at a yard with 2 acres for just my horses - electric fenced in their own area. 1 stable in an old converted barn which is just beautiful, storage area and lots of off road riding.
There is no fload light school apart from a fenced off section of grass which looks good/flat with letters and there are only 5 other people at the yard but they all work full time so doubt I will see much of them...the yard is a fully working farm and all the liveries are spaced out too so you dont get under each others feet....its a happy hackers yard too....
In total I will be paying £130 every 4 weeks....
Is this pretty good...?

Part Livery at lovely yard with 2 schools ( 20 x 40 & 20 x 60 with mirrors and floodlights) Summer jumping course , 1 mile grass gallop , permanent electric & post & rail fencing. Shearer is T/O rugged & booted up, mucked out, B/I feet picked out , quick flick off , rugs changed etc. then fed, skipped out and put to bed in the week. At the weekends I'm DIY but services are available, schooling is available as well but extra is charged.
My bill usually comes to about £400 PCM depending on how much feed he's got through , shavings or if he's been wormed etc.

I was paying £80 just for field and water, sounds dreamy and i certainly wouldnt sniff at that price

When I had my horse I had:

DIY at £24 pw for grazing(all year), stable and use of menage.

Moved her to Full Livery for £95 pw including everything apart from farrier, vets and exercise. Facilities included all year turn-out, olympic size menage, warm wash and solarium. All feed, haylage was included.

old yard which is also a working farm, we had individual paddocks for all 3 horses, no school but able to ride in one of the fields if you wanted, acres of off road hacking, own stables and storage space.£15 per week per horse.
current yard. The mares share 2 paddocks (and eat down the lami paddock when necessary ) gelding in with the other boys. 65x 25 menage. own stables plus a stable to store stuff in,shared tack room, feed room. there are bridleways which you have to hack down fairly quiet roads to get to. YO on site. £65 per horse per calendar month. (works out at £15 per week)

For part livery in south east.
Individual or turnout in pairs or 3 whatever perfence, plenty of grass.
Use of one well surfaced school, horse walker, tea room, owners on site 24/7.
Lovely courtyard stables, always clean, about 12 other horses.
Includes feed and unlimited shavings and hay.
Owner also will bring horse in on weekend if bad weather, plently of storage space.
£80 a week, not to bad I hope

I pay £40 a month for the happiest yard ever! Theres only three horses there, mine and two friends, we get on sooo well! I have a lovely huge old stable, get the straw free but have to pay for the hay (£12 per large round bale between three of us, so not expensive) The grazing is absolutly fantastic, even in the winter! Before moving there my Tb didn't look like a real horse lol he looks sooo good now, well atleast in my bias opinion! We have 360 acres of private off road hacking round fields i can just ride out my grazing field gate onto! We don't have a menage but our grazing field is so massive that we have made a jumping paddock in it. Have a faily large tack room ect ect and I love it there!!

there is such a variety of prices... area makes a huge difference, and the SE is really a lot more expensive than elsewhere.

I used to pay £120/month DIY in the SW which had great facilities and very good turnout. Big yard with variety of horses and riders, but was overall happy there.

Now I pay £200/month for grass livery (but that includes feed and and ad lib hay through winter) in the SE and London commuter belt. Yard is smaller but with good facilities and fantastic hacking. It is staffed, which is important for me, as I often can't visit due to work and so can ask staff to feed or attend farrier etc.

Private yard:
6 Acres (split into 2acres X 3 paddocks), own stable, lockable tack room, haybarn/feed store, water but no elecric unless we get a generator, use of olympic sized sand menarge with floodlights, 50 acres of off road hacking plus forestry hacking a few miles down the road.
Horses are checked everday not including my visit and can be turned out etc if needed at no extra charge.
4 horses and i pay £140.00 a month.
