What do you put on your horses feet to stop the snow from sticking??

When I went down to Crop this morning she has her stilleto snow boots on

I picked her feet out and the only thing I had to put on her feet (underneath obviously) was Linseed oil or hoof moisturiser. I wasn't sure what to use so I used both!!

What do you use and is it effective? Can't tell how well my version worked as the snow had gone by the time I went down this afternoon. We are forecast for more this week so I want to be prepared

I use Vaseline which seems to work ok.

I used to pack my pony's feet with Vasaline (sp), seemed to do the trick.

Or a tub of hoof grease.

hhmm may nip into the tack shop on the way to the supermarket then and see how much that is compared to the Vaseline

vaseline does the trick for us too

get a pot of petroleum jelly from your farm store- its the same as vaseline but half the price and does the same job....
