Hi

I started drawing the other day (I missed art after I finished my GCSE in it!) and decided to play around with a more cartoon style of drawing. Someone said to me that I should consider selling my work as gift cards. Personally I don't think it's good enough, and if I did then I'd have to practice a lot more before, but I'd love an opinion on it (Don't worry, I won't get upset if you're honest, it never crossed my mind to sell it before, it's just something that I find really fun to do!)

I like some better than others, but this is pretty much all the ones I've done so far.

Edited to make up for my failure to use HTML

I think they're great though you need to look hard at how you draw front and back legs. Sometimes they're spot on but sometimes they are out of proportion to the rest of the horse and make it look a little odd. But as cartoons I think they're great. I'm taking on a Shetland mare (as soon as I can collect her from 150 miles away!) and I'm worried about how she'll be able to see over her stable door! So I love the scurry ponies one! I'll PM you when she eventually arrives x

The one of Tikki looks so much like the Spooky Pony, down to the socks and getting rid of the rosette!

I like the spooking-at-a-leaf one!

I think you could really develop your artwork, I like your style and you certainly catch something of the horse. As has been said, a little work on the anatomy and you're there. As it's been a while since you did anything you are bound to be a bit rusty. You could do super greeting cards or personalised drawings. Keep going!

Very good! Please look at my post about getting together a book in aid of Help for Heroes - if you search for the 'Forum Covenant' threads, there is info on there. Basically a group of us are putting together a book - we need artists willing to donate some time and do some pictures to go with the writing. 100% of the profits are going to Help for Heroes though, so there isn't any money in it I'm afraid, but a good way to get your name out there

Thanks everyone

I'm trying to work on getting the balance between being anatomically correct and cartoony enough at the moment, but I think I might try making some and putting them up on eBay or something, I'll post here if I do!

which ones do you think the legs are good/need improving on? Just so I can have a look and work out what I need to change!
