Following on from my lame on a circle, here are some videos. I just can't decide if normal horses are similar to him on a circle or it he is lame. Obviously nothing beats a vet but would be interested to hear other peoples opinions. Nto the best quality but you can perhaps get the idea?

Not nodding, but in no way is he tracking up.... might be because not working forward enough, but not a million miles from how merlin is going..... and he is off for xrays on wed to see if his arthritis is worse!!!

BH, didn't notice he wasn't tracking up, he really isnt. There's one thing it takes someone else independant to notice!

I wasnt sure if he was just being a bit lazy as he isnt going very fast.... is he lunging on the yard.... he may just be afraid to slip and so preserving himself!!

Merlin tracks up better when pushed out of the joggy trot and when showing off in the field to the new mare today, could track up with ease... even though it was just after failing a flexion with the vet!!!!

I like that suggestion! Farrier also suggested blatter on if pads don't solve it (coming on monday to put pads on). Can they look unlevel just from trying not to slip? He is in fabulous form at the moment tbh, had no lame thoughts!
We'll see, don't want to do any damage but he is 100% sound in a straight line!

Yep.. quite easy to look unlevel if they are trying not to slip.. Its like a child trying to run on ice, always trying to steady themselves.

Ted was 100% straight and on a circle to left but not to the right... I worked him on the road and straightlines to start and within a few days he was a sound..
Pads may just take any pressure that is there off.. Trial and error.. doesnt look too bad at all though.

i was told by a good vet that if head nods down its a front leg but if leg nods up it a back leg.. appeared the pony on our yard was lame on front with a bruised sole and lame behind with a touch of arthritis, maybe worth looking and trotting in straight line to see if any nodding before re lunging on a circle, also have you had his back looked at by a back person, might be worth a look if you havent x

There are two reins there, two videos. the link above is a different video.
There is a definite nod as he starts then seems to go, nearly disappearing as he goes more.
He's had a back person out, but wouldn't let her do the neck so potentially some stiffness in the neck, nothing we can do about it though.
Thanks for looking everyone, can't do anymore trotting up at the moment as his leg is up with a potential infected cut...

Very difficult to say for sure. He genuinely looks like he is just being very careful on the concrete. I'd try him on grass and see what he is like there; or find a small inclined hill and trot him up and down it then you should see something.

I certainly don't think anyone can say he is or he isn't judged purely on that video - sorry no help to you whatsoever eh?

lol, nope!! Interesting about trying to slip, see I had never head of that. He is 100% sound everywhere except on the concrete so may just uh...blatter on once he recovers from a cut *rolls eyes*
I need a new video camera....hmmmm...
