My horse has a splint bone that interferes with suspensory ligament.

Last week he came in from field lame and next day he had swelling from knee-fetlock and so i have put him on box rest. His swelling has gone right down but apart from the usual splint area on the inside of near fore there is a line running downwards from below knee to mid/lower cannon- could it be a vein? or tendon/ligament? any thoughts??

Well had the vet and he said it was a vein which is common with pus in the foot, as he was sound and the vet said it seemed to be getting better itself he advised me to just start turning him out again
