Or other colours except white for that matter? I know that white is traditional, but solid colours are acceptable, but do you hate seeing anything except white saddle cloths at events, or does it not bother you in the slightest?

Ive used black on my grey. White just doesn't look all that great on him tbh (fleabitten grey) where as black looks much smarter.

I dont mind seeing black tbh, its still smart and minimalistic and when on certain coloured horses (particularly lightening greys) i think it shows a degree of thought has gone into how the picture is presented.

We've got a lovely black Bartl dressage cloth & use that without any problem. The rules don't say what colour it should be & I think it looks very smart. We also have a white one but I wouldn't use a really loud colour I just stick to either white or black.

I also use a really nice Black Bartyl Sheepskin edged one, I use it for all disiplines as its the ONLY saddlecloth which fits properly (all others slip on this horse). Id prefer it to be white for dressage but my horses comfort comes first and I dont want to fork out £50 again just for a different coloured Bartyl one!

I must admit I do tend to stick to traditional white however last week I'd used my white saddle cloth on Saturday and lent my spare out so I used a dark Green velvet saddle cloth on Sunday for SJ - Bought it about 3 years ago and never used it, but do you know, it looked really nice!

I always use white on my chestnut, but my piebald doesn't look right with white because of the way his markings are. He always wears black & looks much smarter.

I do love white (albeit mine is a little "off white"!!) but then again my horse is black, I think wear whatever compliments your horses colour. I want a red one

I had one with a Tigger on that Mike simply REFUSED to have anywhere near Gen so I often 'threaten' to use that.

I guess I just dont feel right using anything other than white, although I would love a cream one and Gen is really an off-white and brown colouring.

I compete in a black saddle cloth on my black horse at affiliated looks much smarter. No one has ever comented on it and my instructor suggested it as white makes his back look shorter - he is quite compact.

I always used a smart black cloth with silver piping on my grey. She looked much better in it than in white, which made her look odd as she was flea-bitten.

I don't think it is acceptable to use a black saddle cloth in competitions. At the same time I appreciate that they look quite good on greys. But even if I had a grey I would always use white saddle cloths in competition.

I only find black acceptable on greys, and only light grays if you use white the horse invariably looks dingy.
