She looks really well, lovely glossy coat

Which class did you go in? With a little more muscle she could beat many of the Cs I've seen at county level.

shes a nice pony. good confirmation and been turned out really well...like CarysDB said, with a bit more muscle she'll look fantastic and i can see you winning a lot of classes!! well done!

She is bonny as hell, don't see hwy she shouldnt do well - bit more tlc feed and shine and she'll be winning in no time.

Okay I am going to be blunt. She is a very nice mare and will do well, but your turnout is wrong for M+M's you need tweed jacket, canary jods, Navy showing hat (with leather harness), preferably leather boots, I would also have her in a pelham or simple double (prob a rugby pelham) and she needs a straight cut saddle to show her shoulder off. and carry a proper showing cane, also with your number get a pair of scissors and make it smaller, round the edges off, also use black cotton to tie it (plaiting thread do) so you don't use the awful plastic stuff they give you. I hope you don't mind me being blunt but you have got some seriously nice horses, that will do well but turnout counts for a hell of a lot, if you look professional the judges will take more notice.

Greatly appreciate it however, u might be mad..as u didnt have to point that out soz

because i did know all that lol, but my sis whos got a section D and went with me had all my showing gear as she was up against pros lol...so she stole everything from me!!grrg

Sorry but I was thinking just the same. Brown leather gloves too and hairnet. If you look at MM class pics in horse and hound you will see what we mean. Don't let your turnout let you both down she is seriously nice and could be up there with the HOYS people you were talking about

hehe thanks, i wish i would have been a bit more bold when my sis asked for all my stiff
mad.gif
damn sisters!! grrg
by the way peeps, shes been schooled since a 3yo so she has a very soft mouth...and seen as shes only 4yo i dont want to spoil her..so a pelham will be to severe....what would you recommend that wud be more proffesional??

Looks like she's gonna make a lovely C, echo comments about getting more muscle on the back end, straight cut saddle etc, everything that people have already said.

If your doing novice classes the snaffle is fine, personally I'd rather see a pony happy in a snaffle in an open class is thats what it goes better in, I don't understand the desire to stick everything in pelhams (but thats just me, no disrespect to the showing fraternity)

One thing not yet mentioned, I rather her tail was a bit longer, great thats its feathered but it should sit below the hocks for ridden welshies

That first picture made me laugh as it looks like she's licking the bucket as her tongue is out.

oh yeah and it does lmao!

Gosh, she looks the spitting image of my Section D when she was about 4/5 years old - how old is she? She may well fill out a bit more as she matures. Lovely little mare.

Agree with the comments about turnout but that will all come in time.

Don't take this the wrong way, but I thought you were a showing EXPERT, not a beginner? I know when you were over on NR you said you showed at the Royal Welsh, had a stud farm and showed Welshies. I would have thought someone who showed continually could have rustled up more than one tweed jacket.

You could maybe try a mullen mouth butterfly bit? Shorter shanks than a normal pelham & use it with a leather curb & that will be very much less severe than a Pelham?

Gorgeous little pony.

I think she was talking about the pony being a beginner to ring.
