OK, I really had my heart set on a treadstone rolled bridle for PF's tiny head, but they are a bit pricey and then I found this on ebay, which is also rolled, and much cheaper, but as you can see, does up on the poll.
Now, is this a good thing/ bad thing? Any other comments??
Thanks

Is the poll area padded? Would she stick her head up or be helpful about having her bridle fastened on top of her head?!

Just remeber in a normal bridle there is 5-8" of adjustment lengthwise with the cheekpieces and only about 2" in a poll fastening rolled bridle....

Froogpool manor had Treadstone rolled bridles in thier sale a month ago - might be worth calling and seeing if they have any left.

All "true" rolled bridles are done up on the poll, the treadstone has flat cheek pieces, so isnt a fully rolled bridle. If it is nicely made the buckles wouldnt be a prob, BUT I would personally want one I knew would fit if getting a type like that, so M2M would prob be best route to go down....

It's reassuring what you have to say about the buckles. I'll measure PF's bridle and compare to measurements on the website. She's got a small head, but isn't really that difficult to fit. I'd love to buy m2m but I don't think it's going to happen for a while

Don't do it PF

We bought a cheap rolled bridle from the states to make a pattern from it. The leather was truly disgusting - I kept it outside as it smelt so bad.

Then the pattern was useless and the fit on these needs to be near perfect.

If you want a really good one its going to cost around £200.

Couldn't get the quality we were after and the sizing is hard

Decided it was easier to import them from Germany, so when people want one we get them to order - but they are £200+

Do you think the treadstone ones are a good sort of compromise then? even though they're not 'proper' rolled bridles?
Found a website I can get them for around 80 quid *gulp* (rather a lot of money for Argentina) I know they're a bit cheaper on ebay, but I'm not keen on the seller....

I'd be wary if I was you PF. Unless you are buying a recognised saddle maker bridle OR can see the leather, you may be disappointed.

I've never seen one which has the throatlash buckles at the top of the poll.

My Passier rolled bridle had all the other buckles at the top and no they weren't a problem at all; however the throatlash did not buckle at the top; the buckles were on the lower part of the browband so did up underneath the throat. I don't think I would like one up there to be honest as it would constantly get caught in the mane.
