What do you think of this?? Has anyone seen it around?

Looks nice - but I think it is overpriced. I've just had a build, on an R-Reg iveco, all the same spec, designed how I want it, with my colour scheme, for about £2k more!

Have you thought of buying a chassis and having one converted yourself? It worked out slightly less expensive when I did mine than if I had bought one ready done.

Ah, but no matter how shiny, that is only a paint job

Do you have someone you could take with you who is knowledgable with wagons of this size?

I have an H reg Roadrunner and its been a fab lorry. Its only ost me £300 to get through the MOT the last 3 years and is mechanically very sound. Parts are also readily available.

I know, but some of that what due to the chassis we bought too. If you were looking at an older one, for example this H reg one, then find someone who can do a good job on the conversion with everything you need, I do think it would come up a bit cheaper than the one for sale.

But whatever you buy, whether is is a chassis or one already converted, please have a mechanic check it out thoroughly (I'm paranoid, can you tell???)

I think it is a little over priced, but not much if it is low mileage and in good condition.

I paid £10750 for a J reg cargo in Dec. It is mechanically perfect, only done 70,000KM and has a years plating.

Dont fall for the shiny paint work though!

How many miles has it done? What weight is it? Does it have tack storage? Will they put a years plate on it?

Apparently it has done 80,000 miles 134,000 km,

Now I have found out my friend up North is selling hers as her horse has been confirmed with wobblers..........

Her box is a Leyland Daf 150 Turbo, she built it herself and apparently it cost her £11,000 to build. It is tilt cab, she bought the box from Daf agent. It is a W reg, 7 years old. There is nothing in the living though...she has just built a double bed thingy, but the horse area, most important!!! Is large, kraiburg rubber matting throughout and on ramp. The engine has apparently done 303,718 but as a diesel engine apparently this is not much?? I do trust her but want to know if this is reasonably priced as it is a W Reg... going to try and get piccies on here............let me know what you think!!

Sounds expensive to me - you could pick up an H Reg chassis for nothing and have it built - to put it into perspective - I've just bought an M reg MAN 7.5t 18ft chassis for £450 off a client of my dad's. Needs brakes doing for MOT but that's all and we've been quoted £400 for mechanic to do that - OH doing it though so only parts cost

We are putting my existing box on the new chassis so upgrading from old V reg Bedford with no power steering to M reg MAN with a know history for around £800

Now Miller, do you think you can loan your OH out!!!!!!!!! LOL!!! It is ok if you can do that, but if you have to employ someone to do it would work out more no?? What do you think about the second one then?!!!

Personally I'd be more inclined to go for the newer chassis with more BHP myself - not that I could afford that! Have heard about rusting probs on older DAF's but never had one so can't confirm either way!

My OH is brilliant - he's fitting me a new kitchen at the moment and just done the bathroom (hence why I can't afford a posh lorry!) He also services my car, mends anything and everything and to top it all is horsey (suppose it's to his benefit too to sort new lorry out)

Whatever you do get it checked by someone... we have just been firmly bitten on the backside by trusting a reputable dealer... will end up being about 1500 worth of work required. NOT impressed.

Is yuor friend's one coachbuilt or GRP conversion? Avoid GRP like the plague!

I second that - cost me £3000 to make safe a GRP one I bought from a reputable dealer!
