Hi,

Thinking of buying a horsebox, BIG minefield. Have been looking at this one on Horsedeals and horsequest

http://www.horsedeals.co.uk/ItemDetail.aspx?ProductCode=14-08-09-54432

Hubby would prefer to wait til next year and spend more money but thought we could buy a cheaper one and resale next year when we have saved a bit more.

Quite an old chassis, but seems a nice little box, thinking it could be overpriced for age

Any one any advice please!!!!

Thanks

Lou

Holy crap that is expensive for a 23yr old lorry

I have seen newer boxes priced better than that!

I was thinking it was overpriced but find horseboxes such a nightmare as i know nothing about them. Don't know whether to phone up and make a silly offer?

We would like a 5/6 ton lorry with living that is under 4k pref, that won't cost me a fortune to keep on the road.

Are there any dealers in the south east? or can anyone fiind me a nice one.

I'd say over priced too, had a quick look through and found this one, poss a bit longer than you wanted:

The one below it is nice too if you can up your budget a little or get them down!!

Whatever you are looking at in the smaller lorry bracket, make sure its not overweight before you put a horse in it.I was told by a VOSA man that they are targeting the 3.5 ton lorries because of this. It costs less than a fiver around here to put your lorry on a weighbridge and have a printout of its unladen weight. Hope this helps.

I'd try to find something like a Renault master, because the horses travel lower to the ground in them and get a less "seasick" ride.
