What do you think of this horse?

He looks nice enough and if he's truely what they say he is in the add, then he'd be the right sort for you.

His neck does look mighty strong doesn't it - having said that, anyhorse of that size is mighty strong in their neck, they only dont pull us about because they choose not to, not because they can't. So I wouldn't worry about that.

I would ask why he's hogged though, I dont mind hogged horses, but it may have been done for a reason like sweet itch.

He's quite a handsome lad I think, and a good age x
 
Agree with the post above. Unless we're total pony squashers we'd none of us win a fight with a horse by strength! You should select something that is happy to carry what ever size/weight you are based on temperament more than anything in your case. There is nothing in the description to indicate that the horse would tend to be overly forward. Happy shopping!
 
Thanks all. I do like the look of him. I don't need a weight carrier really, i'm not heavy, but something about him just caught my eye. He looks kind.

Think I might ring up about him in the morning ...
 
I've taken a look at the other ads placed by the seller and I like the fact each has different wording. This shows they trully know their horses and care enough to put an accurate description.

Nothing puts me off a dealer more than identical ad wording for 3 different horses - as if they really are that similar!

He is not a show quality animal and doesn't appear to have enough bone to be classed as a heavyweight - he is just so stuffy he looks huge. He is fat in the photos and may be a different horse once fit.
I would be rather concerned about the dealers user name:- London2012 which effectively prevents googleing for info and the account is recent. Does anyone know this dealer? -the surname is not uncommon but is the same as one connected with known dodgy dealings. Apologies if not connected but most genuine traders don't try to hide.

Completely agree with this!! Is very sus!! Also, £4500 does seem to be the price they want, as both horses are that price, and generally, 2 horses are not the same, to be prices the same. I presonally dont think its worth the price they are asking, but thats my opinion

He seems nice enough for what you want to do as above has said not really a good example of a show horse but that probably dosen'ty matter to you. The thing that would put me off would be the price, I know bombproof novice ride horses are worth their weight in gold but my friend recently bought something similar to that horse, same look, as bomproof as they get, but also had a good compitition record and she paid over a grand less, and he came with a full wardrobe.
