I am in no way looking for a new horse but always love browsing sale sites just to make myself feel happy about my lovely horses i have

However i spotted this lad today - what do you think of him? Interested was welshy people thought.

Would the comment 'Still available' put you off, makes it sound as though they cant shift him?

Looks like a handful to me. I wonder why they are selling him rather than gelding him if it is only that they don't have the facilities for a stallion?

He looks like a nice sort but I would wonder why they were selling him as it doesn't sound like they have had him long. Why did they buy him if they already knew they didn't have the facilities?

Don't think I like him. They should send his goolies to the dogs and try again later. No reason why they should stay at all.

Looks like they are struggling to hang on to him from the pics!! Would imagine he will settle down nicely once his bits are gone. Having them off would sell him much quicker.

He looks ok, like he may be a nice tidy ridden welsh D gelding in time. He does not look so good that I would keep him entire and breed from him. I did have a well bred Section D stallion years ago...

what is the normal age people tend to geld colts? Most this age for sale seem to be gelded already unless they have a fabulous blood line.

It could be a few reasons, lack of money, wanting said colt to develop and grow well as some later cut boys are noticeably so. They could beleive he would be nice to breed from. I would be interested to know exactly what his bloodlines are....

Can't see any reason to keep him entire but I am no expert on Welshies.
He looks a nice chunky boy though and could make a nice pony.

Poor hind leg conformation and a common head, not very typey Welsh at all, doesn't mention breeding lines, good Welshes can be had for the same money....

He doesn't look very welshie to me either. He looks a handful and if I were them he'd be gelded in no time. He would sell better if he were. Good enough price though. Hope he goes somewhere where he can be taught a few manners in a good home.

My first impressions are that he looks quite a nice sort, but the woman looks terrified of him and is wearing a hat to deal with him on the ground (which may be good, if he is unpredicatable, but you know what I mean!). Speaks volumes to me.

asked seller about his breeding and reply simply said

'he is an unregistered welsh d'

that was it - if someone contacted me about my pony i am selling i would give them as much detail as possible to get them interested

looks a good sort, colt so will you keep as entire or geld? In my experience Sec D are nutters (loveable nutters!) and require strong confident handlers/riders. xx
