What do you think of this little chap?

What a lovely boy!!
He seems like a really honest and kind chap by the sounds of the description and sounds like he would really suit what you and your hubby are looking for.
Definately worth trying him out I think as he may not be your cup of tea but he certainly sounds lovely ... and it doesnt hurt that hes a cutie too ;-)

As per my recent thread I've just retired my 26 year old tb (only had him for 6 months) and I'm looking for a happy hacker for myself (nervous novice but improving) and my partner (beginner but very keen).

I recently sold one just like that for quite a bit more money! Could've sold her several times too so I think he is a nice sort, IF he is as good as the seller says and as genuine, then at that price he is a bargain. Only word of caution (well two actually) is, get vetted as is slightly older(tho, if you have had a 26 year old this is a spring chicken) and also, if he has been in same home/routine for 8 years he may be a different horse when you get him home so if you are quite novice then make sure you trial him as much as possible.

When I sold mine (similiar reasons too, ie young child) I had several real novices come and try her out and though she was good I could see her using her smart cookie brain to work out that actually she could 'just head towards the gate a little'. etc etc Even though she was good I became nervous she would quickly learn to act up.

I ended up selling mine to a lovely slightly older very experienced lady who loves her and indeed she DID try it on several times.

p.s cant comment on conf etc as not great pic for that purpose, so just basing opinion on his similarities to my old one.
 
Although he is described as 'stocky' I wouldn't say he looks to have /that/ much bone so it depends a bit on how tall/heavy your OH is.

Agree that he might find a move quite a big change after so long so you might need some reassurance while he settles. But being kept fora long time is usually a good sign he cd be worth hanging onto :-)
