It seems odd that they don't say who his sire is. :confused3: They describe both sire and dam, but wouldn't it make sense to name the sire so you could look him up? :confused3:
 
yes have asked what his current height is, waiting to hear back :) I also asked to see some video.
what do you think of his breeding and conformation? :)
 
I got in touch with them about him before this ad came out, hence knowing his sire who is chestnut. He is on allbreeds. :)

Lovely face but not keen on his conformation at all. Not much to him and his front end is all wrong, yewy neck, not much shoulder, neck quite up right also.

Should make 15hh I reckon.

I would think it is a mistake by whoever put it on, that is so inbred otherwise it is just the same lines all the way through with no other lines being used, I would be surprised if the offspring were not deformed.
 
He's not very well put together, he has a bad neck set and a very upright shoulder, his back legs are weak and out behind him from the saddlebred influence I'd guess
 
He's a grand little thing. I would not worry about him being down in from etc. he is growing and will come up.

However, given his type and breed he will be downhill I think. He is also upright in the shoulder and a little in his pasterns behind. I suspect he will be quite a chunk when he grows up, he has a lot of the trad cob side in him, and will finish, if not quite a cob then a little cobby IMO. He is not an athletic blood type at all, not completely cold but definitely on the non blood end of the spectrum.

I don't see him as ewe necked, he is a youngster and they have real ugly stages (I had one who was a beautiful foal, and the fugliest thing you have ever seen until he was 5. It was extremely hard to keep the faith in him! He's a stunner now, thank god!) he is just growing.

The inbreeding I would not worry too much about, it is only a quarter of him, and there is a lot of hybrid vigour at work in the rest of him. As he looks at the minute, I can see him finishing around 15 to 15.1hh.

I never understand crossing an unknown quantity with a crossbred-to build blood, type and temp I always cross a half bred/cross bred with a full bred something. Too much of a gamble as to what you end up with. That is why it will be harder to tell what height/type he will finish at. If his type is what you want go for it, he would not be mine as I like a good dose of blood. He is not what I would call a comp type, but should do everything at low level happily subject to temp. However his colour will add a few ££ to his resale value if you want to keep and produce him to sell!

Most importantly have a good look at his dam when you go to see him, she will have left most of herself in him. Then look up the sire, see how much the sire left in him, and you can better judge what you will end up with from there. I cannot emphasize looking at the dam enough. If you can't see her, get decent pics.

I think hes very cute! I would have him, and wouldnt worry about confomation issues. He looks like he will grow into himself as others have said, might make a little stunner :)
