Gembob if it was for sale at a reasonable price to reflect the problems i would consider it but as a loan what is to stop you letting the horse have the time off ( while paying its upkeep) put the hard work and effort into restarting it ( again more money and time ) and then the owner deciding she wants it back. I know this is worst case scenario but i am ever a pessimist! What about contacting local local sanctuaries for a companion??
No, i wouldn't. How can someone "not have time" to turn the horse away and feed it up? The whole point is, that doesn't take time (well, not compared to working it normally!). If this advert has been out for a while, I'd say its a bit of a dodgy deal, to be honest. If the owner genuinely doesn't have time, why not put it on rehab livery somewhere?
I'm afraid the tone of the advert does seem like "I can't be bothered to fix my own problem, i'd like someone to do all the boring bits for me, so I can have my mended horse back when its better". If this isn't the case, sorry, but someone needs to re-write their advert in that case !!
I think you'd be taken for a mug if you went for this one, gembob.
it may be genuine but I'd still be very suspicious, it DOES sound as though the owner wants to send out an unfit horse then take it back once someone else has paid for and sorted out it's problems
turns out this horse as been at my old livery before owner has fun riding it into ground then loanin it out on rest apparently its psycho and a cribber called baby! great lol! steering clear!
The ad is screaming out I want someone to pay for the upkeep of my horse whilst I have some time out and then get it back into shape once it has had it's field rest then I'll have it back again so that I reap the rewards of all your hard work.
Big body swerve!! Although do feel sorry for the horse that it has such a sh*t owner!!!
