he jumped the first 3 well, got very flat to 4, which i sort of expecting as when i went in he wouldnt go near it, so was pleased i actually got over it! came to 5 and he just said no, i cant see what i was doing wrong... care to enlighten me?
anyway heres the second part of the course, hopped 5 nicely after re-presenting came to the planks and he veered off to the right, i had held my left hand open as i could feeling him going, gave him a good kick and he just wasnt going. re presented well i felt geve him a good chance but he just said no way!
here it is:

ah and the dressage has uploaded as i write this so here it is.... i felt that he went well, hes always a bit gobby and giraffe like but hes not a natural dressage horse! or as my instructor says- "he carries himself very nicely.....just the wrong way up"

Were you using enough leg? Even though he is forward going you need to make sure you're using your leg to push his hindquarters underneath him to give him to power to take off, It is hard to ensure your leg is on when they're forward, I know!

It could have been the light/your line the first time and then him taking the mickey?

You know your horse

Did you tell him off after the first stop?

His head is always in the air, you seem to have to steady him after the fences a fair deal, if he was throwing his head around did he not see the jump, or did you change his rythym by taking a pul in approach to the fence which he then was uncomfortable taking off on that stride?

just throwing ideas around...

he's not napping is he?

its just both those jumps are going away from the camera - is the person with the camera near the gate?

otherwise i cant really see you are doing anything wrong

I think it was the planks that caused the first stop. He saw them at the last minute so stopped at the fence before them. Then he obviously didnt want to jump them either.
