Sorry for one of these posts but could I have your honest opinion on him? Ben is my OH's Dad's horse - had him 3 months, bought from a dealer, liklihood raced in the past and is somewhat nervous of men, but fine with women. I have been offered to take him on as a little project. He hacks out well and pops a small fence but I don't think he has had any schooling as such as has an unbalanced canter.

Thanks guys opinions would be much appreciated!

Haha think the Icelandics have been teaching him a thing or two about getting muddy! I think I'm just worried that at 11/12 he may be a bit stuck in his ways - but hey one can only give it a go as you've all said and hey free horse! I think before I make my mind up I'm going to seriously consider cost/time implications, finding the right yard for him etc as its no good rushing into these things.

Thanks for the opinions so far. I'm rubbish at confirmation so am glad he looks good to u guys

If you have the time and facilities then why not? If you will have to pay for livery etc then I would think long and hard. Not because i dont like him, but because you could end up well out of pocket with a horse you dont own. You know what they say, never do business with friends or family!

He looks a nice chap and you have some insider info as to his temperament and soundness which is a big bonus!
