I want a grakle bridle/noseband. At the moment I have a stupidly difficult coloured Mark Todd bridle to match, and the only noseband I can find to match it is a Shires which is out of stock until 2010, and I want it to hunt in now.

I found this cheapie bridle which will be fine for getting grubby and wet and manky, but am unsure about the colour. This is where I need help.

1. Is it a rancid colour?

2. Will it suit my horse in her clipped state (slightly less red than usual?)

I personally have this bridle, and used it as a handy second bridle for hacking etc.
Image doesnt do it justice really, i found it looks alright after a couple of coatings of oil and settles to a nice brown colour, but its personal choice , although darker coloured tack tends to be the norm for hunting :S

Its not bad, I do already have a Treadstone bridle (not a grakle, and not one P wears as its too small) which is nice and soft - but the idea was a cheap bridle - £81 could get me a nice second hand choco Stubben

I will just cope with a crappy flash noseband and patiently await 2010 to buy my oakbark noseband

I dont hunt often enough to worry about what's the norm and my local packs don't seem too hung up on tack colour, I have seen allsorts! As for looking cheap, I think that is waaay down on my list of worries - I look cheap enough to detract any unwarranted attention from my bridle choice

I thought it might look ok after a few cleanings, and I dont think the grey horse does it any favours. Oh, decisions! I don't know what to do!
