not going to say much because of the sellingbuying posts etc and i dont want it deleted, but what do you think? he is 12yrs 16.3hh ex racer and been in schooling for around 2 months.
excuse the background noiuse.lol!
I think he is lovely, seems very calm. I take it he is ex NH, if so, he will have a pretty good education anyway and will have seen most things. Mine is pretty bomb proof. Does he hack alone? Ask who the trainer is, if you call them they will give you some more background on him and also info on past injuries etc.
Is that you riding, how did he feel?
yes thats me riding him, he is mine though i may have to sell :-( he is an ex hurdler. yes he hacks alone! I was thinking if i do have to sell that I may sell as dressage prospect? what do you think?
Very nice indeed, Very balanced and calm. He looks very soft and his transitions are nice, although his head may need to drop a little? Sorry dressage isn't my strong point! Thing is, at 12 it's hard to market something as a prospect and perhaps I'd be more likely to sell as an allrounder unless you are able to take him to some shows? Price wise I'd say no more than £2500, only because of his age and the market for ex racers. He is lovely though, you could try for more and his personality might sell him I'm just being pessimistic I'm afraid!
Oh right, i thought you were looking to buy him. I would think he would be better being marketed as an all rounder, people tend to go more for WB for dressage and tb for xc or jumping. He does look lovely. If he has only been out of racing for 2 months then price wise you might be struggling. I know of the most stunning 10 year old ex racer who has hunted, been schooled, hacking nicely and very laid back who has just been sold for £1200 . Total bargain, imo he was worth way more but people always expect to get ex racers for next to nothing. A lot of trainers/owners are happy with this as they are more concerned with getting a nice home for them than a lot of money. Sadly, it doesn't do people like you many favours. I think your boy looks lovely though. sorry you might have to sell him.
