Right I am turning into a hypochondriac but for my horse

it doesn't help that I read symptoms of things on the net and think 'OMG! D has that'

As you are probably bored of reading that D has Arthritis in the coffin joint. He is now semi retired and goes out twice a week depending on how he is feeling legwise.
In the last couple of months when he comes back from a hack he normally stands in his box whilst being untacked and then has his tea before being put back out. When you go to put him out he is lame/stiff on that affected leg. Also when he is stood in field/stable resting he is resting that front leg and the other day he had it right out in front

He seems sound at the mo and has just had his bute reduced to 1/2 a sachet a day.
Before I ring my poor vet with yet another hoard of paranoid questions about D's leg thought I'd ask you all what you think?

Has your vet suggested that his joint be injected with corticosteroids? Also 1/2 bute per day is not very much - I would ask the vet if you could give him a bute in the morning before riding. I have two arthritics - they have both had their joints medicated with corticosteroids and one has a bute an hour before being ridden. They both do mainly walking - definitely no trotting on the roads - and with this regime they are pretty sound.

Hello

My horse has just been diagnosed with early arthritis in both coffins - off to vets in a mo to have her injected with corticosteroids. When was yours diagnosed, and how advanced was it?
