What do you use to poo pick?

Ok having read the post below I do find poo picking in the summer very relaxing and satisfying too once field is clear of all poo

So what do you poo pick with? Started off with barrow and poop scoop and rake but have used a shavings fork instead for past couple of years now which seems easier? Bar when the horses investigate and helpfully push the wheelbarrow over

runner gloves and a barrow, if we strip graze and the grass is long in the poo patches despite daily picking and shavings fork wouldn't get through it.

Scoop and rake (are they called 'stable mates'?). Have tried various other means but I always go back to this. The rake bit is quite old, now and I'm always having to bend it back into shape, but it still works!

same as you, just cant seem to get to grips with a shavings fork, always end up back with the stablemate poo picker and rake thingy

Waaaaaaaaay too idle to push a barrow about, I even use the trailer to muck out the stalls

Shavings fork, muts be a D handled one, as it turns to make a rake for long gress, scatterd bits, , and then back to use as a scoop. A strong metal Fynlayte one.

Shavings fork and a barrow, plus any willing volunteers!!!

I use a trug bucket and a small plastic gardening fork (small hand one about 10" long). Lay the bucket on it's side next to the poop and fork it in, then tip the bucket into a barrow. On our yard we sometimes share mucking out stuff so sometimes instead of a trug bucket I use a round washing basket which is better for a shavings bed because the shavings drop through the holes and you do't end up throwing away clean shavings.
