Right, I'm in trouble; with time running out fast, I don't have a 'scooby' what to get my wife for Christmas this year. She's given no hints or clues. I'll probably spend 200quid or so. The thing is, I think she's actually got everything :o

Horse related would be nice. She's not into jewellery or being flash. HELP :confused:

How about a mini break? A Spa resort or just a bit of time away, somewhere warm?

Failing that you can't have too many shoes - A different pair of yard boots or riding boots perhaps?

Agree. A break in January, preferrably in the sunshine or a relaxing pampering weekend would recharge her batteries. Getting through a long winter with horses is exhausting.

Go with the second option of some lovely leather boots too.

you may be running out of time a bit now but how about something bespoke for her horse such as a super-swish leather headcollar with nameplate or a made to measure bridle. Even if she's 'got everything' a really gorgeous item made just for her is always absolutely fab to get (specially if you keep it a complete secret)

Otherwise what about an experience type present - a course at a top training centre or lessons with one of her favourite riders. Package it up in a nice card and perhaps with a smaller item to use whilst there.

Now that is a good idea but The kids all chipped in together and bought us one last year. We haven't used it yet. We never seem to get the time.

A lesson with an instructor that she wouldn't use everyday or perhaps even a mechanical horse?

Otherwise if it were me those lovely expensive boots or coat that I won't buy because they are too much to justify for everyday

What does she "do" with her horses? ie compete, hack....

Don't personally know much about driving! But again lesson, apron, boots, reflective stuff? Is she a lady that likes to choose for herself? If she is, is there a driving type of tack shop that you could visit as a day out to let her choose?

lovely warm coat? Down filled north face jobbie or something, it can get very cold driving.

I'd second the idea of something really special like an expensive personalised headcollar. Or nice boots, but maybe if she doesn't ride you want to look at something like dubarry boots that will be warm and waterproof while she is on the yard and out driving.

Or some matchy matchy stuff, I think the driving crowd are really into having all the colour co-ordinated stuff. Boots/bandages to match a thermatex, headcollar, leadrope, jacket or gilet for her etc.

Or if she really has everything what about a portrait of her horse? It is getting a bit late to get one done for xmas but my husband does vouchers that can be given as presents so that the recipient can actually be involved in the commissioning process and get exactly what they want. Not going to post a link as I don't want a smack on the wrists for advertising, but his name is Mark Langley. Other artists may well do the same.

Kristmaskatt, there's a lady in Spain who's still taking orders for portraits as Xmas presents. She's on HandH too.
Jenny PetArtist Deakin is her name on FaceBook.

I've seen some of her work - it's fabulous!

Brilliant idea Kristmaskatt !!!
