What do you wear on your feet in the hotter weather?

My feet are getting pretty toasty in my long thermal muck boots now it's getting milder outside. I can't wear my riding boots as my feet hurt after being on them for sometimes 12hrs straight. I've found that wellies tend to split or get holes as I wear them every day.
So what do you wear for comfort around the yard and riding in the warmer weather?

Hmm good question, be interested to see what others do...I usually walk down to our field and if I wear even a short pair of muckers, in hot weather my feet are just boiling by the time I get there...but I don't fancy broken toes!!!
So sorry, no suggestions, but would love some myself too! :D

Another one who wears trainers, they're safer than wellies! Amazes me the amount of people that say wearing trainers is dangerous but they wear wellies which will not protect you at all if you're trodden on, at least trainers are leather.

Short Mountain Horse "classic" laced boots, sometimes Converse sneakers for general yard mooching/poo picking.
I have been known to go barefoot if I'm bathing for shows on a particularly hot day

(*runs and hides*)

Converse :o only for yard stuff though - did regret them slightly when horses were having a hooly in the field when I went to bring in my boy though  Then for riding I just pull on my riding boots, and whip them off once I've got off as I spent ages saving for them :D xx

OP is like me and has muckboots which are actually pretty epic if you get stepped on. Hence me feeling a bit naked in my trainers. Doesn't last long though, I soon get used to it once the sun comes out! :D

You can take the insole out of Muck boots for the summer, which cools them down a bit... plus fold down the legs but I actually have a pair of Dickies safety work boots which I wear in the summer. With a Clydesdale X and a Comtois X I need the extra protection!!! :D

They really are! Only got a fractured little toe when my mum's horse stomped heavily on my foot one day, if I'd been wearing anything else I think it would have been lots of broken toes/foot time

I don't think mine turn down very far because they have harder material up the inside leg... must go test this out...

If I'm handling horses then my footwear is no different on warm days than cold days....I wear steel toe cap boots. Wearing flip flops & flimsy footwear around horses is pure folly. It doesn't matter if the horse means to step on you or not, your foot is broken & hurting just the same.

Plimsols when its just warm and flip flops when its hot :o all cheapy ones either primark or tesco because they get trashed. I arrived at our new yard when we moved to uni in flip flops unloaded him and did his stable before realising it probably didnt set the right impression, I also trotted him up in front of our old YO in them and she did laugh about how BHS/PC it was just before we left :D.

My feet my decision, I dont like steelies because I have heard of some nasty acidents with them and I know my own horse, never heard of a yard specifying what foot wear you need.

You should have seen the inappropriate things we wore on our feet and didn't wear on our heads in the bad old 70s. Health and Safety would have to lie down in shock. Amazing we all came through it.

I have some steel toe caps for warmer weather and even use them in summer as they are light weight and I can wear them for hours mine are called prospeckta hey are from Brantano and cost about £40 6 years ago so they are well worth the money other half bought me them as he was feed up with buying me expensive boots and to be honest they are the best boots ive ever had I would seriously recommend them to anyone who has horses

I wear the same as I wear in the winter. I have my ariat long boots and some walking boots that I swap between depending on what I'm doing :)

Although I've just got 2 oldies now, I've had youngsters for too many years to spend anytime around them without some half decent foot wear. Squished flip-flop clad toes is not my idea of a happy summer.

And there's always the little thing called a shower to use to wash your feet off after being at the yard.... ;)

This^^.. Even the kids' 11 hander woudl probably squish my feet. She has accidentally trodden on me before, but only with me wearing my sturdy boots. She's quite solid!
