now, i didnt really think about this before something OH said when i was going to look at horses this week, but i do have kind of a horse-buying what to wear

i dont like to wear my best riding/yard stuff in case the vendor thinks ive got more money than sense
on the other hand i dont want to go for the equi-chav look in case the owner thinks im not letting my precious X go to some equichav, lol

apparently i spent longer getting ready to view horses than i do to see OH

(although to be fair, when he got home i was walking about in a pair of pants and some new leather riding boots im wearing in, lol, some men would count themselves lucky!)

I have actually thought this through in the past!

I'd go for very well worn grubby boots (so they look used, and you don't look like a total novice or fresh out of a riding school

) coloured jodhs (not too posh - wouldn't wear beige or white) and a nice top, so I don't look like a total scruff and in case the seller happens to be a fit bloke. Well you never know

Ah yes, I too go for the 'experienced but not a rich foreigner look'. I wear blue or dark red jodhs, my mucky riding trainers, slightly elderly chaps with worn patches. Top is usually a decent t-shirt or long sleeved top with body warmer. Also, we always try and go in our battered, mud covered, ancient Isuzu Trooper incase people think we have money to burn.

I think last time I wore my "well worn" boots and chaps and a clean pair of purple jodhs. I then had a clean top on and my "horsey" (by smell and design I think) coat ...
Meant they could see I was around horses a lot and not a total novice but everything was presentable and so I didn't look too much like I was unable to look after myself, let alone a horseQ

I'm amazed people think this much about it!! Last time I got off my horse, put her away, then went to look at a horse with a friend!!!!!

My boots have holes in, my jods are a variety of colours and I usually have a Joules T shirt, or fitted Tee on.

I would wear what I normally wear to the yard, but make sure its clean

After all the seller will be a horsey person too

If I was selling a horse, I wouldn 't think twice about what the person looked like.

i did turn up to see a horse in a naf pair of ill fitting wellies with jod the other day so i looked fresh out of a riding school- i had OH's car and thought my boots were in th eback- i felt like a right idiot!!!!
