I've always ridden in Jodhpurs with my short boots and chaps, or long boots when I had them. Can't imagine wearing anything else
Just been talking to a friend who hates jodhpurs and rides in jeans.

So what do you ride in, jodhpurs or jeans/trackies?
and if you don't wear jodhpurs what footwear do you wear?

When I was on DIY livery I used to just do everything in jeans and muckers - now I wear jodphurs, short boots and chaps, unless I'm being lazy in which case it's jeans, short boots and chaps.

I tend to come straight from work so just keep my boots, jods, a rugby shirt and my riding jacket in my tackroom to change into when I get there. I'm a bit like a horsey superwoman when I arrive on my bike in heels and a dress and emerge 10 minutes later looking like anyone else on the yard, before another miraculous transformation when I'm done!

For hacking/schooling i've worn jeans for around the past 6 years, and the seams on 4 pairs of my jeans no longer exsist because of this, normally wear long riding boots with my jeans tucked into my socks.

Usually jodphurs, short boots and chaps, but my chaps burst so wearing my nice long boots at the moment.

Occasionally jeans, usually only when I don't have a tolerably clean pair of jodphurs.

I often ride in stretchy straight legged jeans, very comfortable and I like have the pockets there to stuff things in when its summer if I just have Tshirt on when doing my yard duties, also they brush off easy, so any dust/horse hair comes away, otherwise I'd be washing jods every two minutes and if you buy them from Peacocks (classy I know :o ) there dirt cheap, easy to wash, you can even get cream/white ones for summer than look really smart with your polo tops and there more flatterin than tight jods or breaches :D and you really can't tell when you have your long boots on.

Schooling is breechers/jods and long boots.
Jumping is jods and long boots or short boots and chaps.
Hacking is long hack jods and short boots and chaps a quick hack is jeans, combats, trackies with either short boots and chaps or wellies.

I normally live in old trackie bottoms and my muck boots so i ride in these too.

Occaisionally if i am making an effort for a long hack/lesson or I am having a thin day I will wear my breeches and long boots which I must admit are comfier.

I don't like the thought of riding in jeans though! Don't the seams hurt in places they shouldn't???

I ride in jeans and long boots. I used to ride in johdpurs then when i moved to newmarket i was (what felt like) the only one in johdpurs so started wearing jeans. Just havent changed back

I ride in my skinny jeans (bought an extra two pairs!) and at the moment, black jod boots and gaiters.

When I get some short brown boots, it'll be boots and chaps.

I do have jods - but wear them occasionally, I'm more comfy in my jeans and as Kenzo said, I also love having the pockets to shove things in LOL.

I wear either jodphurs or breeches with some long leather spanish riding boots for hacking out. I only wear my short Ariat boots for schooling and lessons with half chaps...think I'm trying to preserve them as they cost me so much! I can understand why people opt for what's most comfy sometimes though as either my socks ride down, or my jodphurs ride up or my chaps squish and don't feel I can ride properly when I feel uncomfortable!

Now I mainly ride in jods or trackies, destroyed a decent pair of jeans very quickly because I couldn't be bothered to get changed after work - won't be doing that again!

Usually I ride in jodphurs, short boots and gaiters but as my horse has been lame recently I've been doing very short walks so been wearing skinny jeans, short boots and chaps that are a little short but easier to wear with jeans.

When I first started to ride [about 10 years ago] I wore jeans and ended up with the most horrendous rubs on the insides of my knees and this has put me off wearing jeans for riding a lot. I have done it a few times just for short periods or when I've been riding western. I rode western in jodphurs once, looked ridiculous!

Someone at my yard did comment that I looked to neat and tidy to be around horses sometimes!

Jeans (with jodphurs underneath, Jods are not too flattering for flabby legs lol), and usually my muck boots but I have been known to wear trainers on occassion - forshame

And we mustn't ever forget to wear the gormless expression :D

For a lesson/show I do make an effort and get out the (dark coloured!!) jods and jod boots but I cant be arsed with all that for a hack!

jeans or leggings with hunter wellies

Ooow yes I forgot those as well, I love my Dorothy Perkins Black stretch 3 quarter leggins....they have been worn for both drunken excursions with a sexy black dress and well as hacking on a sweaty oss :D:o

My jack wills joggers for everyday riding with my dublin rivers- they are so so comfy

Jods if i need to look a bit smarter

I went through a phase of wearing jeans for riding at home... but I tend to wear navy/dark coloured jods for "normal" riding and then obviously beige for shows/lesson etc :)

ETA... Short boots and chaps for both :)

prefer to ride in jeans as more flattering than jods, but the chaps I have now don't fit properly with jeans so I have to always wear my jods now.....

I actually fin they are better for me since my hip/back problems anyway, got more room to strech and loosen up. Mayb my jeans just too tight, should lay off the sweeties..

:)

Always ride in jodphurs and long boots/gaiters with short ones. I have waterproof full chaps which i sometime ride in after doing yard jobs though.:)
Plus hi vis for hacking:).

Jeans and long boots for me i hate Jodphurs and only wear them when i have to they are not the most flattering thing to wear.......

Jeans. Nice ones with a bit of stretch in, and a smooth inside leg seam, ie not double stitched. Sometimes with full-length chaps.

Jods/breeches everytime,(unless being stuck on something thats messing about!!) cant see how anything else can be comfortable!!

This.

I can count on one hand the number of times I've NOT worn jods and boots in the last few years. Its always been to 'just hop on the norty pony'.

Got to agree with CalllyH, am about to go and ride in my JW trackies, they are sooo comfy :) although my ones that cost £9 from Sportsworld are also comfy too TBH :D

I used to always ride in jeans (and shorts in summer :o ), or occasionally trackies, and only wear jods when i had to..but since a friend lent me her posh, immaculate Albion saddle to use on my horse, I now only ever wear jods or trackies when using it as I have an irrational fear that denim will scratch it :o :o
Do all mucking out etc in trackies and Dublin river boots/wellies.
Usually wear Dublin river boots with trackies and short boots + chaps with jods. Boots and gaiters for competing.

Here, I wear jeans, chaps and whatever I have on my feet at the time, usually rigger boots, cowboy boots or trainers.

In winter it is lined boots, and quilted coveralls over jeans.

In the UK I wouldn't have considered getting on a horse unless I had jodhs and boots/chaps on. I still wouldn't.
