Ours came round today to ask if we had a spare riding hat she could borrow, as she has left hers where she went on holiday :) In the past she has given us a cockerel, we gave her the last of our hens and we have borrowed feed off each other, especially when her horse was poorly and didn't fancy what she had to feed him (he liked our alfalfa oil. )
Beats a cup of sugar anyday :)

My patience! as her boys are always kicking their football over in my garden - so their evil mother makes them come round and ask for the ball (not shout over the fence) and bribery in the form of fresh eggs will sometimes cross my grubby palms...

Nothing!

I wouldnt dream of going round to them to borrow anything either.

Our old neighbour was fab though! We would lend her stuff and vice versa. Silly things like Chives(she gave them to us) and a shovel. We trimmed her hedge and mowed her lawn. (She was old) She looked after our cats if we went away. I would rather have Millie as a neighbour than the people we have now! LOL!

We have a lovely neighbour, she goes away and leaves her Waitrose Chardonnay carrots with a note they're for the ponies. As she's well retired we do tend to help out as needed eg trees down, boil kettles on our gas when we've a power cut, shop when snowbound etc However she does amuse us - once she set fire to a tiny corner of our field by mistake when she had a bonfire, was a touch windier than she thought and something blew over. She left a note that night apologeticaly - didn't matter as no livestock and barely scorched it anyway. However the next morning a big box of grass seed appeared on our doorstep!

Gosh what a lovely neighbour Dubsie has :) We are very lucky as four out of 12 houses have horsey people living in them, all either keep them at home, or on very DIY livery round the corner, there is always someone to call on in an emergency, and I like to think they think the same. We also get to ride out together in the summer, which is good fun too. It gives us the best of all worlds, horses at home but lots of people to socialise with. :)

We borrow their dog :) They both work full time so they don't like to leave the doggy all day and our dog is lonely since our other one died so they drop her off in the morning and the dogs keep each other company in the day :)
