We use Solutions Saddles treeless saddles - they are fab, fit all of our horseshorses that are a variety of shapes! I also think the horses are so much more comfortable in them and so move and work better.
Mini TX has a Bates Innova. Horse has fairly high withers and a slightly roached back. She also has a massive rear end with a slightly barrell belly and very elegant slim shoulders and neck. Past saddles have slipped forward as her rear end is a real powerhouse. This one stays put.
I used to have one as well on my roly poly cob. Now just use a Bates VSD which suits just fine as can change the gullets to fit his expanding waistline.
Ideal Jessica. Tried loads and it was the best fit with a gel pad as she has high withers and muscle wastage either side. The only other option was to get something specially made.
lemetex courbette grand prix with huge knee rolls -its wonderful and im trying to find a MW cos hes filled out a bit now ,my horse has a big short wither and a short back and big shoulders
Mine has very high withers and a bit of muscle wastage (much better though) and I have a Stubben Genesis Special (no blocks cause I have long thighs and a bad back and tend to get really sore in blocks) and use a gel wither pad. This is the only saddle that fitted without being specially made, although I did ask for a wee bit more flocking when I ordered mine just in case - Passier Grand Gilbert was almost alright, Bates and Wintecs pressed right down her withers.
I used to have an Ideal Jessica but it moved forward unless strapped down with a point strap and I was constanly having it reflocked... now have a WOW Also tried a Bates Isabel and he physically couldnt canter in it - think the long points restricted his shoulder.
Strangely my boy is a purebred Arab - looks more Anlgo/TB shaped with high withers, but he is very wide at the base of the wither like a WB apparently... seems to like the WOW so far
I have a synthetic Isabel Werth which i think is brilliant. My boy has massive withers and is in a narrow gullet size but he does fluctuate in size as he muscles up in summer.. so easy and simple to change and a very comfortable saddle.. i swear by it!
I don't have one OP but I'm looking for recommendations for my Haffie she is currently in a 17" medium (Medium wide ?) Windsor GP and I want a reasonable black dressage saddle.
