Anyone have any experience of super horses with Ferro damsire? My KWPN mare has ster pref, prestatie dam by Nabuur. The mare herself has no predicates as her forelegs are too short. She has super movement and an excellent hindleg, and she has already prduced an elite offspring in Holland. Her temperament is incredible and she is currently a lower level SJ schoolmaster for my 13 year old daughter. So I basically need a stallion who is a long legged foal producer!! Ideally KWPN graded with a good dressage index. Any suggestions?

jazz

johnson

Bretton Woods

I second jazz if you can afford him. I have a grandson of his and am over the moon with how he is maturing. If you can't afford him himself, look at his sons. I used TMovistar but I think you'll only get frozen semen for him currently. Johnson is another good son of his and combines flemmingh blood (though jazz x flemmingh, could make for a hot mix!!) Tempi on here if my memory serves me right has a youngster by Johnson, so can give you more info on what type he throws. http://www.elitestallions.co.uk/index.php?id=13&singleid=750&displayvideo=1

Otherwise wolkenderry is quite a 'leggy' warmblood with amazing paces.

Another consideration (Though I'm not normally an advocat of his line line), is Sandro hit, he may make a good cross with your mare in that his line tend to be quite blood type, with good front ends but poorer back ends, with the addition of your mares quailities of having a good back end, it could make a good cross? Stedinger imo is probably one of his best sons if his own stud fee is too steep. And I believe a foal by stedinger got the highest bid at the recent vechta foal sales????

I think slightly short forelegs are quite common in Ferro offspring - Jazz tends to throw horses with longer forelegs so you could look at his sons or even grandsons. I have a broodmare with Ferro blood and find Flemmingh blood crosses well to so you could look at his offspring too.

has info on all KWPN approved stallions and is really useful, especially the foal reports. Not all stallions are available in the uk so make sure you check first with the stud that you can get semen (or ask Elite stallions!).
