Kali (8-year-old, Polish sport horse, 16.2hh) lives out 24/7 in the summer, in at night in the winter, grazing not particularly great. He gets:
1/2 scoop Bailey's TopLine
1/2 scoop Mollichaff
1/2 scoop D&H Pasture Mix
2 scoops Pink Powder
capful of ProFeet
He gets hay when he comes in, but I dampen it b/c it's quite dusty. In summer, he is fed once a day, in winter twice (so double the quantity).
He's been out of work for about a month due to back/foot issues so has quite the grass belly, but once he's back in work fully that'll come off. When in full work he does something (school/lunge/hack) 6 days out of 7, often a combination of all three.
When we bought him (back in January), we weren't given much of a clue as to what he'd been eating before, so we just winged it. He had dropped quite a bit of condition over the winter and with the move, and got worryingly ribby (I like my horses chunky!), which is why I put him on the Topline and I added the Pink Powder because his grazing is so poor (although not that poor given the amount of poo in his paddock and the size of his belly). He gets the ProFeet because his feet are appalling . . . dry, cracked . . . just horrible. He was getting oil, but the D&H mix contains alot of oil so I leave it out now . . . I may add it back in when the weather gets colder, just to get some more fat into his diet and keep his weight up.
