What exactly does this mean?...horse behaviour

When out hacking my horse winnies like a good un at 2 specific points. This particular hack is nothing special we don't do it that often but she becomes excited and for the life of me I cannot fathom out why?....suggestions? Pure curiousity

Could it be something to do with a previous owner?

The gelding I ride is only young, but has had two previous owners in our area. There are one or two horse we bump into from time to time while hacking, who he really seems to know an be attached to and I can only assume he knew them at a previous yard.

Horse have very good memories and can remember things both positive and negative for many years.

My old pony whinnied when we went past her previous home (in the trailer) for years after; they have very good memories!!

Never met another horse there nothing like her previous life before moving here (forest to open fields), just whinnies very loudly for a period of time at these 2 spots...very strange

PF winnies a lot when she can't see any other horses about. I expect she likes to know that she's not on her own!
