What Experience / Qualifications Would You Expect Of ........

Or what E / Q's do you have as a manager...?

1 and 2 Q wise- at least AI, BHS stage 4 as riding is involved, but i suppose it depends on what level you want your horse ridden to OR some competition groom/rider/trainer experience.

3 and 4- Suppose anyone could run these yards, ie farmers though i assume would have some horse experience, such as their own horse. I would expect the YO to have at least some previous YM experience elsewhere.

As a deputy yard manager of a large full/competition livery yard i only had my stage 2.

I'm not sure I would expect any qualifications as alot of brilliant competition riders and horse people I know don't have any BHS qualifications.

None whatsoever. I would rather have somebody with hands on experience and common sense tbh.

I'd expect the YM to have at least their BHS AI, and the Health and Safety at Work First Aid qualification - invaluable when things go wrong.

I would pick Experience over qualifications every time,
I have no idea what any of the BHS ect things stand for so cant even say what I think they should have

I have no qualifications, unless History, design tec, Tap, Ballet and Modern dance count lol

Its something I had never thought about, no one ever asks when ringing about livery, do you think it makes any difference?!
Agree Health and Safety is a very good idea
