What feed would

Knock off the cool mix and keep with the blue chip so it's not a drastic change to the digestive system. If your hay is quite rich then consider soaking it too

I personally wouldn't feed readigrass if the horse was on an extended level of box rest, it contains too much energy which would be detrimental to a horse couped up in a stable 24/7. The soaked hay replaces the grass the horse would have consumed had it been on a normal turnout regime, and the blue chip provides the nutrients etc.

As he will be doing no work at all I would suggest soaked hay in a small holed haynet as many times a day as you can, and access to a comprehensive mineral lick. I was always told to feed according to work done, if he is not doing any, cut the hard feed back and up the forrage. However it all depends on how he lookes and how well he does.

depends why its being rested.
if its for lami soaked hay and hifi lite with a balancer.

for most other reasons i would give
hay(soaked or damped down to protect his airways)-i used to buy two types and pop a net of each in for a bit of varity!
hand picked grass goes down well too!
i give mine some fresh straw too to pick at.
a feed ball with hay replacer/fibre cubes that dont need soaking.
some stable toys-i prefere to use things like swedes which dont have any molassis/high sugar which can send them abit mental!
hi fi lite and a balancer with some carrots, apples, parsnips etc to eat -i hide them in the bedding/hay to keep them interested.
