By this I mean, what happened to SP'D because SP'D "doesn't jump"? SP'D would "maybe jump a tiny cross pole if pushed/life depended on it".
But here I am today having had a second jump lesson in the last couple of weeks and again absolutely loved it! I was smiling the whole time, if quite exhausted as D had a very lazy start but we got going eventually. Last lesson we just did one jump and a few poles. This time we had two jumps and practiced either going straight down them or putting a circle in the middle. I'm so pleased to be doing most of it in canter and even found that D has another gear in canter once he got into the swing of things. Not that long ago, the thought of cantering over a pole on the ground made me want to cry so I'd say that's big progress. We're just about at 50cm but I think I'd be happy to go a little higher, not that the height is the focus - it's all the stuff between the jumps. Really pleased to get good feedback on being straight to the jump (most times, we did have one or two not so good) and being good at looking up where I'm going. Bring on the next one!
