Mine has been an angel too! Today was day 4 of riding since the snow and she hasn't put a foot wrong. she only had 10 days off but usually after more than 2 days off she is a nightmare and I won't let go of my neckstrap! With mine though I'm sure she is saving it up until I go show jumping tomorrow and will show me up.

Tied my boy up whilest mucking out today, and after was planning on hacking out. Bare in mind he's had around a week in the box. So insted of waiting for me to finish mucking out and tack up. He decided to in-tie himself and go for a trot around the menarge! cheeky sod! thought he had abit of a cheeky face on when i went to get my wheelbarrow..

Good for you, he is obviously a nice sensible chap

My post would be; what happens when you hack out a 21 year old after 2-3 weeks of only boring school work/horse-walking due to roads being icey? Answer he was thoroughly excited and wanted to jog the whole way whilst spooking at his own shadow! I'm glad he enjoyed it though, was getting sick of all this snow.

Had a bit of both Mystic was good to lunge which is unusual, usually have bucking, leaping etc. Mollie was bucking on the lunge but not too bad.
Monty who is nearly 3, well I took him in the school, saddle on, bridle on with a lunge line Just wanted to lead him round and then put stirups down but as we got in the school he decided to charge down the other end of the school taking me by surprise i had to let go, so he carried on cantering round and round bucking with lunge line between his legs

When he did stop he was good and we got to do what i wanted, had no reaction to stirups on his side in walk and trot so it ended well

Miiiiiiiine!!

Before he had the 2 weeks off (minus one quick 30 minute hack) he was being a sod

Rearing big time, nappy, spooky, asking far too many questions.

Then on the hack mid-week he was okay..did one weird leap and then settled down .

Today, I got on and just knew "my horse is back."

Gone is the rearing thing I was battling with before the snow!

I sound ridiculous, don't I

yes my mare hasn't been ridden since last yr due to a mixture of the weather and her eye problem. she is in 24/7 and also on the haylage. rode her yesterday expecting fireworks and fully prepared for them and she was like muffin the sodding mule!!!!!!!

now here is a thought....................maybe he enjoyed his holiday manged to think about what you where asking has processed it and its time to move on with the work

my mare when young use to get to a point in schooling where you would have a battle i soon learnt by accident that if at the ages of 4-6 if i allowed her to chill then came back days or weeks later to the work she had worked out what i was asking

My 2ry old

I know he's not ridden so i hope he counts

He has had limited turn out for the last 3 weeks due to the weather and our field is up the road.
He has been an angel.
Behaved himself in the stable, Walked out very sensibly when its been icy, been caught no problem and been a pleasure to be around.
I was worried he was going to turn into a mad man.
Other liveries have commented on his good behaviour. So i'm proud of him..
