Hi,

I was just thinking about what this forum has done for me and its quite alot.

So I wondered what good things had come out of the forum for everyone?? Not just advice but real life things lol.

Like for me, a forum member has one of my babies on loan, I met a lady (through a forum person) that would like my broodmare after she (hopefully) has baby and I found a lovely yard where my mare will go to foal down (again, fingers crossed)

So wonder what the forum had done for you???

I bought Lace off the forum (ETA Horse not a shoe lace! lol)
And found a stable for the lady who I sold my pony to!

i've found out a lot of stuff i did not know, all useful.
found someone excellent to send my flighty 4 yr old to for a few months - thanks, Volatis!
made some lovely new friends, both very local (yay!) and in other parts of the country.
another HHOer let me have her cracking little horse to event in 08, lots of fun with him.
Baydale very kindly let me borrow Hector for the EHOA winter camp in 08, hugely educational, excellent tuition on a wonderful talented boy. social side was good too...
on here i found a wonderful reliable horse/house/dog sitter for when i go away on hols, who stepped in immediately after my injury and came and stayed here doing everything i couldn't do - thanks a MILLION, SteeleyDan, you're ace. (we had a right laugh too!)
loads of things. loads of likeminded people on here, for which i'm always grateful.

HHO has been a HUGE help to a first time owner, lots of tips, help with shopping for things, help buying (what to ask when you view, which dealers to avoid etc etc), and we've 2 now lovely ponies for daughter. A lot is just from reading all the posts. Oh and with a bit of encouragement I plucked up the courage to get back on a horse myself after far to many years (25 or so) and really enjoyed it.
I and my neighbour have had really cheap heating oil - thanks to Trussardi
Made lots of friends here, and special mention to Mrs M who always knows just what to say - how she finds time I'll never know?!

I have learnt so much from other people on here, lots of people make me smile and feel better when I am having a naff time.
I do not use alot of other websites, this is my main one, I use this more than facebook and all those kind of sites. I just really enjoy coming on here, learning and talking to others who love horses.

But, as said, above all, the support I have had since my various crisis's have been wonderful, a fab bunch and I would not want to be without HHO & HHO'ers.
It has helped me feel better about RL with my horse and hopefully, ultimately make the best decisions. It has helped me find where there are yards and such like, and probably lots of things I cannot remember just now.

It has saved mine and my families sanity, any more talking to them about horses and we'd all have cracked!!

Its amazing, I would never have had anything to do with such talented and knowledgeable people otherwise.

It stops me doing my dam job!!!!! Great reading, nice to talk horse all day if necessary without boring the pants off your husband, employees, business partners .......

We had another three wonderful years we may well not have had with our pony, thanks to 'veterinary' help and advice from the forum.

We have a lovely competition horse on loan from a (largely absent!) forum member

I am regularly reminded that I'm not alone in some of the less wonderful horse-related moments as I read posts by others in a similar position

Given me lots of laughs and interesting debates to read and join in

Housework has been relegated to the level of importance such things really deserve

and it has just reminded me I have some Body shop stuff for 'Splotchy' which I have to get mailed to her, but as we are still snowed up, will sit on the side waiting to be sent

Even though I have only been here a few months, I have had so much useful advice, don't know how I managed before........

Err given me something to do in the evenings. Distratced me from revising from exams so I got rubbish grades! (I'll forgive it though). Kept me up late at night and made me wake up at 4 in the morning so I could rush on here to check if my posts had any replies. Distracted me from the real world in general...

Seriously though, given me loads of usefull advice and taught me things I'd probably never have found out otherwise. Kept me up-to-date with the newest happenings in the horsey world. Made me realise there are other people as obsessed with horses as me
