I want a new hat, so what have you lot all got, and what do you recommend.

Can't be majorly expensive (ie. under £90).

What are the JTE ones like?

I have a Charles Owen Showjumper XP luckily I am still in childs hats despite being 21 so it was £90 however I think the adult one is slightly more!
 
Ive got a charles owen showjumper xp for showing and a J3 skull cap, both hats are great, soft leather harnesses etc. I will def be getting another charles owen when i need a new hat.
 
Charles Ownen are great, had mine a few years. I have the jockey skull for normal hacking, dressage, XC and a champion ventair for SJ. (but that's more expensive) My sister just got a Charless Owen Jockey Skull, think it was under £50
 
I showjump in a champion ventair
and was usung a jte for everyday but after falling off and landing on my head (nice black eye and cracking headache !!)
ive brought a harry Hall hat (two tone black and gray jte style) its very very lightweight even compared to the jte and after a tiring s.j lessson my hair was only slightly damp !!!
I got mine for under £50 from equestrian clearance.
 
I had the Champion Ventair peaked hat and it's fab. I used to get migranes when riding and this hat was the final straw- otherwise I was going to have to quit. I've never had a migrane since buying this hat. I've now got the skull version after I fell off wearing the peaked version last year when out xc and landed on my head

I've got the charles owen j3 which is lovely. I always get a very sweaty head and it works wonders - besides looking gorgeous!

For dressage and sometimes sj I wear a charles owen showjumping hat - looks good though i cant say its the comfiest thing in the world to wear. It is a fair few years old now though so they may have changed the design

Really lovely comfy hats, but like all of the others, dont fit everyone....
 
Just Togs Junior Showjumper navy velvet, leather look harness, PAS0015 and only £35 from TDS on lne.
 
I have a JTE and it is sooo comfy! It fits my head lovely and is very lightweight too, however like any hat i would try a few as it fits my shape of head lovely but doesn't suit my mums shape of head

I have the JTE one, the one where you can change the colour of the strip down the middle. It's fantastic, it's comfortable and you can adjust the size slightly, which is good for me because my head seems to regularly expand and get smaller!
 
I've got a Charles Owen young riders hat (ha ha I'm 38), it's up to the latest PAS standard and is really comfortable and was less than £50 - does get a bit um sweaty though!

Hmm, so you would potetntially buy a hat that didnt fit just cos they are made in the UK?!

Nope, you should only buy Charles Owen hats from independent retailers as they are trained to measure you for the perfect size hat. The reasons I would buy one is the complete opposite of what you said.
