I have a 14.1hh, m/w welsh cob mare
shes got quite chunky legs, not alot of feather
What height rider and weight rider should she have?

Similar build to mine and pretty much same height. I'm 5'8 and 10 and a half stone, my sister is 5'10 and 12 stone. We're both carried very easily!

Unless your mare has some sort of undisclosed ailment, you would have to be huge indeed for her to have trouble walking around with you sitting on her.

FWIW, if you're really concerned, she'll probably cope even better if you ride her more frequently and build up her muscles a bit!

I weight 15stone and rode a 14.1 welsh d last summer who had no trouble with me whatsoever (and I was especially on the look out for any signs!) She was of the finer build too but she seemed to really enjoy our hack as she was usually stuck with novices, when we came back one of the grooms said it looked like she was almost smiling! Goes to show it's not ness how heavy you are, it's how you ride!
