I've just been entered in a pony club one day event.

It's novice level (level 3 I think), but I'm not sure what the height is for either the showjumping or cross country.

Does anyone know?

It will be 3ft

Since last year!

In 2006 The Pony Club introduced a grading system for cross country courses and show jumping courses to be used in Pony Club Eventing. The aim was to standardise levels nationwide. These levels go from Level 1 to Level 5, with Level 1 being the lowest and Level 5 the highest. A lot of branches use British Eventing courses so Level 3 was made comparable to Intro, Level 4 comparable to Pre-Novice, and Level 5 the same as BE Novice. A full breakdown of the levels can be downloaded below.

ooo goody, i was hoping that level 4 would be PN height, im doing an ODE next weekend, whch will be only the 3rd this year, and hopefully the first one that i shall complete!!

yes i am, i am a bit apprehensive tbh, but its really just to test out my waterford around a course of sj's which i havent been able to do yet, so i really hope i have cracked it or i think i will be losing the will to live!

so if you are going to be there and you see a bay mare, not listening to her rider at all and therefore getting too close and poles flying everywhere, that will be me!!

i may have to take the xc fairly steady (if she will let me) as in all honesty i shes not quite as fit as i would normally get her for my BE, although she is being ridden 6 times a week, i may just be being paranoid though!
are you going?

oh cool:) well good luck to her for this week then

i am in the PC but im not doing teams as i havent done any rallies, i have found it diffcilut to go to group rallies such as the sj ones as she falls asleep while other people are taking their turn, and it just turns out to be really unbeneficial:(; and i think they have been rather limited; my dressage instructor is fan and have got on so well with her and she used to teach the raillies, but they dont seem to have organised it that well or had good communictaion. I think il will join next year again and just try to be more active within the branch. But i do quite like to do my own thing!! Not too worried about missing team things as i feel really really pressured and dont want to let a team down!

But hopefully the ground will be lovely at Ickworth this weekend, i have only been once before and had a lovely day:)

Ickworth is great, one of our regulars, about 1.10hr away from us and a nice easy journey all on dual carriageway.

There is a funny bank thing in the SJ, I wonder if it will be included. PC Area eventing has been there last two years. This year we have to trek to Burnham Market and to Witchie for the tet. Dressage is at Stratford hills and SJ at Towerlands.

We are lucky as most of out rallies are very local to us. We also have regular clinics with John Adams as is is a PC dad in our branch..

We are the most westerly PC in area 8 so always have to drive miles.
