As title really. Think they usually grow about 2hands and few inches here and there after a yearling. Also pics welcome

I measured my 2012s prior to selling them recently and they were 14hh (dams are all between 16hh-16.2hh. Sire 17.1hh). I only have two 2011s here now and one is 16hh (dam 16.1hh, sire 17hh) and the other 13.2hh (dam 15.2hh, sire 17hh). The 2010 I have is 15.3hh (dam 16hh, sire 16hh).

When my horse was a yearling he measured 14.2hh...all legs and bum high. He's now 4 and 16.2hh

His mum was 16.2hh TB and his dad was 17.2hh shire

Apart from his laid back attitude he doesn't look like he has any shire in him at all

At 12 months my colt was 14hh (he's now about 14.3hh at 21 months, but his bum is at least 15.2 lol), Mum is 14.2 and Dad is 16 and a smidge.

At the moment you can't see his mum in him at all... he's the spitting image of his dad.

Muy boy ended up at 17hh he's shire was 16hh Welsh D and dam was 15.1hh TB... So work that one out!!? :D

These posts frighten me!

My yearling and 9 monther have always been the same height even when the younger one was newborn (massive shock when she stood up). I haven't got a stick to them but they are the same as my 2 year old and I reckon 14.0 - 14.2. However the big filly is a Clover Hill mare x Ricardo Z and they typically can get to 17.2 - 18.0 so no surprises really. Both mares/stallions 16.2 ish.

However, I have found that things do 'even up' to an extent between birth and 6 and that all of these size rules don't really work tbh. Perhaps they do with natives etc for what they were invented but not once you start mixing blood.

Scarymare my boy has clover hill blood lines too I guess that's where the height comes from then! ****runs off to do some research****

These posts are making me happy :D Percy is 8 months and he is about 14.1. He needs to make 15.2+ so this is encouraging!!

His mum is 14.3hh and his dad is 16.1hh

Ted at 11 months (June 2012) 14.2h
